Ides of March 2010

Friday, March 5th, 2010

A sense of foreboding prevails as Ides of March arrives each year. This is the day Julius Caesar was assassinated. All over the world people consider this day negatively. This year too, Ides of March can have unsavoury implications. In this blog post, let me give you some ideas about Ides of March, astronomy and cosmics surrounding it and few words of caution.

What is Ides of March?

Originally Ides of March was celebrated as a day of dedication to the Roman God of War. In Greek tradition he is the mighty Aries. The phrase Ides of March is derived from Latin “Idus Martias” meaning “Half of March”. It was supposed to be a good time till 44 B.C., when Julius Caesar was assassinated by a group of conspirators at the feet of Pompey. Julius Caesar let himself drawn into his death after defying three portents that forebode the tragedy:

1. His wife Calpurnia pleaded with him not to go to Senate as she saw several visions on the previous night indicating that great harm to befall Caesar

2. The soothsayer Spurinna warned Caesar “Beware of the Ides of March”. When ridiculed and insinuated by Brutus that Ides of March have come and nothing untoward happened Spurinna said “Ides of March have come, but they have not gone”

3. The priest who carried out sacrifice of birds and flocks for the senate meeting got unfavourable omens each time a victim was put on the altar.

See how the tragedy is linked to the number 8:

1. Julius Caesar was killed in the year 44 B.C.

2. He was stabbed by conspirators numbering 62 led by Casca

3. He had 35 stab wounds on his body

Since this day, Ides of March is considered as a day of debt, disease, decay and death throughout the world. The number 8 too got its bad reputation along with it.

Ides of March 2010

This year’s Ides of March falls on a Monday. I have traced the sky chart over London at 12.00 Noon UTC/GMT and found the following in terms of astronomy and cosmics:

1. The planets Sun and Mercury are conjoined in Pisces constellation; the Sun is at Right Ascension (Celestial Longitude) of 23 hours 40 minutes and 53 Seconds, whereas Mercury is at 23 hours 46 minutes and 31 seconds

2. From this conjoining location the Moon is to the west and Venus is to the east located in the same constellation of Pisces

3. Mars is in Cancer constellation sighting the well known open cluster M 44 containing more than 350 red and white stars. This cluster is known as beehive cluster while the Romans called it as “Praesepe” meaning “Manger”. Both Romans and Greeks believed that two stars Asellus Borealis (Gamma Canceri) and Asellus Australis (Delta Canceri) are eating the grass in the manger from opposite sides. This cluster is visible from February till May in the northern hemisphere

4. Jupiter is in Aquarius while Saturn is in Virgo constellations

5. The Moon is in the 26 th Lunar Mansion “The First Spout” (Al-Fargh Al-Mukdim) which is deemed as fairly an un-auspicious mansion out of the 28 Lunar Mansions.

What You Should Do?

Having considered the astronomical position of the planets and star and related cosmics arising from the position, I am chalking out the following recommendations to be implemented by you on Monday, March 15, 2010. By following these recommendations you can keep out of harm’s way. Besides these help in improving your life too:

1. As far as possible stay indoors if you are born under Cancer; or if your birthday falls between July 20 to August 10

2. Take care before you lend money to someone; if possible postpone such lending

3. Any personal items such as a car or mobile should not be entrusted upon others

4. You must postpone any surgery scheduled on this date

5. If you are an investor in stocks and bonds, take a day off

6. Avoid long journeys

7. If you have a lifestyle as casino goer or engaged in gambling or games of chance, give yourself a holiday

8. Do not get into late drinking parties

9. Avoid brawls where you could be directly or indirectly involved

10. Believe in your gut feelings and stop listening to your brain. At the same time guard against getting too emotional on any matter

11. Do not allow you to be led into tricky situations concerning colleagues, friends or customers

12. Avoid going for a date, if this is your first one.

Keep Your Face Open

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

An open face is a great equalizer. Because an open face functions constantly in receiving energy from the environment and giving out energy created within your system thereby balancing yourself as you go on. The moment you cover your face this functionality is impaired. In this blog I am describing how the face carries out this function and the related cosmics arising out of it in order to help you improving your life.

Face

Undoubtedly face is the first thing you see when you look at anybody. Forehead, Eyes, Nose, Mouth, Ears and Neck are vital parts of body located on the face or in close proximity thereto. When all these parts are open to the environment, these work in perfect harmony to one another. These sex parts combined together act as a “Great Equalizer” a function that bestows the human body its health and vitality. Propelled by these six parts, face primarily receives cosmic energy from the environment; secondarily it sends out to the environment cosmic energy produced within the human body; thirdly in doing so it balances the entire process of life and living. The function of equalizing involves six related actions: screening, elimination, moderation, absorption, generation and rejuvenation. When the face is not open to the environment it resembles to a plant that is not open to the Sun; after sometime the plant dries of want of sunlight and before long withers away. Let me jot down how the parts on your face make you a great personality.

Forehead

Using the dual actions of generation and rejuvenation, the forehead shines brighter and holier than any parts of the face. It generates electrical, magnetic and telepathic energy that cannot be properly recorded or verified by any scientific equipment. It rejuvenates the face by lighting it up and has the power to magnetize, mesmerize or, dazzle the ambience. Forehead is known to optimize the spirit element within you.

Eyes

“Seeing is believing” goes the saying. You see through your eyes and understand what is happening around you. Eyes are the first level warning signals you have. Any change in the environment is quickly felt by eyes and transmitted to the brain. Sight and glance balanced together, eyes are the vital organs going complete circle as regards to the six actions: screening, elimination, moderation, absorption, generation and rejuvenation. Eyes are known to optimize spirit, fire and water elements within you.

Nose

Some people are described as “having a nose for something” implying an uncanny ability or faculty to detect or recognize something and turn it into their advantages. Nose smells quickly because it deals with air that spreads faster. Breathing is its primary function; smelling is its secondary function. Except for generation nose handles all five actions namely: screening, elimination, moderation, absorption and rejuvenation. When it comes to generation it spews out the air that it has breathed in or expels water or flam collected elsewhere. You cover the nose when you are sneezing or due to foul air around you. Nose is recognized to optimize spirit, air and water elements within you.

Mouth

You keep your mouth shut when you do not want to say or disclose anything; you cover your mouth when a big yawn hovers around it. Other than these circumstances your mouth is open ready and willing; for example when mouth watering food is placed you tend to relish the sense of taste before you have even consumed anything. If you ask an athlete, he will say that he breathes in via the nose and breathes out via the mouth. Like eyes mouth is so versatile and works the full chain of six actions. Mouth is known to optimize fire, air, water and earth elements within you.

Ears

From the school days, you are cajoled to “keep your ear to the ground” meaning that you must keep yourself well informed about what is happening around you. Primarily ears are listening posts that you possess; secondarily ears feel the pitchy cold or extreme hot in the environment. More than that, ears are the ones that shape our gait in walking; balance us when one leg is raised up; keep us aligned when body position is altered. You balance yourself through the ears because you get a sense of balance through the ears. If you go deep in water the eardrums are affected. A closed ear is a definite calamity. What about a deaf one? Just check with any paediatrician, a deaf child takes much longer to start walking. True enough ears are known to optimize the air element only; but in doing so ears bring you to a stable equilibrium an undisputed fact in medical annals. In sum, ears make you adjust to the environment.

Neck

The Neck is unique as its functions are related to what the forehead and the ears do for you. While ears make you adjust to the ambience neck makes the environment adjust for your sake. Neck is located between head and the torso as a connecting part; similarly neck makes you connected with the environment. Neck analyses the environment and prods you adjust to it promptly and effectively. On the other hand, neck generates, like the forehead, huge amount of cosmic power rejuvenating your entire system. By this process it enslaves the environment and gets the best out of it. Neck gives you agility, flexibility and style. If things go wrong you put your neck out to fight out for your safety and survival. Every now and then, neck gets negative cosmic attacks from the environment and processes these attacks by going through the action steps of screening, elimination, moderation, absorption, generation and rejuvenation. Moreover, neck is understood to optimize all the five elements: spirit, fire, air, water and earth, a feat that cannot be bested by the other parts on the face. Regrettably, covering neck will negate all these cosmics in a single stroke.

Born Under the Trapezium Stars

Monday, March 1st, 2010

You are damned lucky if you are born under the influence of any Trapezium Stars. Out of several trapeziums of stars in the sky, the well known one is the Orion Trapezium. Let me sketch out this trapezium in terms of its astronomy and cosmics. Few recommendations for you in improving your life are also listed.

What is Trapezium?

A trapezium is defined in mathematics as a quadrilateral with no parallel sides. The form can vary depending on the size and shape of vertices within the trapezium.

What are Trapezium Stars?

In the heavens there are several star formations that take the shape of trapeziums. Out of these the famous and luminous one is called “Orion Trapezium” or simply “The Trapezium”.

Astronomy

Orion Trapezium is located in the Orion constellation, in the heart of Great Orion Nebula. Astronomically referred to as”Theta Orionis “and “Theta Orionis 1” it is a cluster of stars forming a visible trapezium. The Four stars that mark the vertices of the trapezium are ascribed the alphabet “Theta Orionis 1 A, B, C, & D”. These four stars as a combination acts like a never failing battery that light up the entire Orion Nebula. Bright and hot, these four stars are binaries or multiple star systems themselves spawning more companion stars. One study traced about 11 of these. Besides, the Trapezium is still working round the clock to create a big nursery of young and brilliant stars called “Orion Proplyds”. About 300 of these could be easily traced.

The Trapezium is the youngest star cluster and very much closest to the Earth. Formed jus below a million years ago, this cluster is located within the Sword of Orion the hunter, in Right Ascension (Celestial Longitude) 5 hours 35 minutes and 54 seconds and Declination (Celestial Latitude) 5 degree 26 minutes and 38 seconds south.

Some writers call these four stars collectively as “Ensis” a Latin word meaning “Sword”. The lead star in the Trapezium is Theta Orionis 1 C. This bright and whitish blue star belongs to the spectral group of “O 6 “. This star is about 40 times the size of our Sun and 210,000 times luminous than our Sun. It is too hot with 46,000 Kelvin surface heat and located about 1,350 light years away. Although this particular star dwarfs other three stars in terms of size and brilliance, all these four stars put together make the Trapezium a lively sight in the sky. Not only that it lights up the Orion Nebula by giving the energy, heat and brightness through the intense radiation and slashing strong winds blowing at the speed up to 660 miles per second. On average all four stars are in the magnitude range of 5.1 and are located within 22 arc seconds from west to east (right to left) in the order A B, C & D as shown in the picture below. From the picture it is evident that the Trapezium Stars give multi coloured reflection. Though green is dominant other colours such as blue, violet and red do mesmerize.

Cosmics

You are recognised as coming under the influence of the Trapezium if at the time of your birth the Trapezium rises in the East or culminates overhead in the sky cast over at the time and place of your birth. If Trapezium rises at the time of your birth it is your rising star and if it culminates at the time of your birth it is your culminating star. In rare cases, Trapezium stars can become your birth star when the Moon figures in the line of sight at the time and place of your birth.

Improving Your Life

After evaluating both positive and negative cosmics arising from the Trapezium Stars, I am sketching few recommendations for you in improving your life:

1. Channelize your un-dying enthusiasm and go- getting lifestyle into viable results in your chosen career

2. Energize whatever you do or whomever you interact with; note that you are a power source, a huge battery

3. Popularize your stature and significance amongst relations, friends, colleagues and others; more with the opposite sex as they tend to idolize you

4. Monetize your programme of actions in career and business so that you rake in millions before others do

5. Ironize when your enemies harm you or colleagues mistreat you with a fitting response; note you are a sledgehammer and no vegetable

6. Lionize in enjoyment of pleasure in family; engaging in charitable actions concerning less fortunate people; guarding ladies under attack from unsociable elements

7. Eulogize when others do the best; note you are the best guy for valedictory function in meetings, banquets or after dinner speeches.

Whose Blessings You Need?

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

Every now and then you come across the word Blessings and you feign that you have lot of these if not only from the God but from several others whom you consider are important and capable of giving such blessings. Who can shower you blessings and whose behalf? This vexed question is answered in this blog post.

Blessings: Scriptures make blessings the prerogative of God and rightly so. All of us accept that it is the God who has created the universe and the beings within including every living organism. Having done that the God continues to shower his blessings. Undoubtedly, we need the blessings of the Lord for us to play our role as human beings on Earth.

Medium: Since the God does not personally appear to bless you, there has to be a medium found for this purpose. In Greek culture an Oracle was construed as a medium; in many Eastern cultures clairvoyance was resorted to receive the blessings of the Lord. In Hindu Culture, however, beings other than humans such as cobras were venerated in order to receive such blessings.

Message: All these media essentially started to give the blessings on behalf of the God , later as time passed by, developed into giving message of their own as well. Both types of blessings have come to be accepted. While the blessings of the Lord remains supreme, the blessings of those venerated do play a major role in human conduct.

Media Types: According to an old Tamil adage the level of authority in showering you blessings come in a typical scale: Mother, Father, Preceptor and Priest. Let me explain how each of them can pass the blessings of the Lord and their own upon you and in doing so help you in improving your life.

Mother: She is the first human being you come across when you are born; her milk of kindness is the first ever thing you taste as you emerge from her womb. In her you see an undaunted spirit as she goes through the motions of labour in bringing you out to this world. From this time onwards you are clung to your mother whether it is sunshine or rains. So much is said about her flowing kindness that even we call the world as “Mother Nature”. Her love to you cannot be ever priced. Like Mother Nature she lives a long life so much so that she is alive and kicking even you pass the age of 60. Throughout, she is at best a strong anchor and at worst a mild critic. She is the first person you should turn to get the blessings of the God; having done so ask her own blessings as well.

Father: Your love and affection towards your father goes in a see-saw pattern in your life. When you are up till 10 years old, your father remains your strength; he knows best, he is pretty smart. As you pass in age till 20 years you begin to see him as old fashioned and too old to remember how a teen would feel about. Thereafter till 30 years you are not much attached towards him, you feel he knows nothing and most often than not he acts in a clumsy manner. After 30 years you think maybe you speak to him, maybe he has plenty of experience, and maybe he has a winning style. By the time you reach 40 you regret you did not have many inter-actions with him, he is now in the heavens and you have to sort out all these without his presence. So whether your father is living or not it does not matter; seek the blessings of the God thru him and his own blessings too.

Preceptor: The word comes from Latin “Praeceptor” and relates to a teacher, guide or philosopher who is constantly at your side. Ranked third in the blessings hierarchy, a preceptor can never mar your life because he is wont in shaping life of his ward in perfect and alluring manner in keeping with the ideals of human nature and dictates of a civilized society. He can over-ride the negative aspects of your nature, marginalize negative cosmics within you and optimize your positive aspects to grow and glow. If you have done past wrongs to your mother or father or both he is in a position to advise you in correcting those misdeeds and guiding you towards loving them once again. Such is the power of the preceptor, that in Greek and Hindu mythology heroes go to their preceptors first before embarking on adventures, battles or acts of mundane nature. Hence, you should get the blessings of the God thru him and his own blessings very often. Remember a cardinal point: a woman cannot act as preceptor.

Priest: By training they are holy in nature; he is always with the God, serving the God or acts in manner that propagates the will of God. He is a safe person for you to confess all your peccadilloes as he is the best listening post you ever had. He is wise, learned in scriptures and in the art of persuasion of turning you towards achieving your goals and missions. He is circumspect and will preserve your secrecy. His plea to God is quickly answered. Therefore, go to the priest to get the blessings of the God thru him and seek thereafter his own blessings.

Full Moon February 2010

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

Full Moon February 2010 forecasts, good and bad in equal measure. In this blog post let me explain the details of the Full Moon in terms of astronomy and cosmics and offer you few tips for improving your life.

Astronomy

1. Full Moon: The Full Moon appears at 16.38 UTC/GMT on Sunday 28 February 2010. You have to trace your local time in reference to this time.

2. Location: At the time the Moon is located at:

Right Ascension (Celestial Longitude) 10 hour 42 minutes 16 seconds

Declination (Celestial Latitude) North 4 degree 7minutes 53 seconds

3. Constellation: Sextans

4. Illumination: 99.96 per centum

5. Perigee: This is the point where the Moon is closest to the Earth in its revolution. The Moon reached the Perigee point on the previous day, that is, February 27, at 21.41 UTC/GMT when its distance from the Earth was around 222,345 miles. At the time of Full Moon, the Moon is moving away from the perigee point; consequently the pulling power is, in fact, recedes

6. Surrounding Planets: Saturn on the East in Virgo constellation; Mars towards North-west in Cancer constellation

7. Lunar Mansions: At the time of Full Moon, it is located in the Eleventh Lunar Mansion (Arabic: Al-Manzil Al-Qamar) of Al-Zubrah, which means the Mane of the Lion.

8. Star: At this time the Moon is overlooking the star Hydrobius located on the hood of the snake. The Greek word Hydrobius means “Water Dweller”. It is the brightest amongst the six stars on the hood of the snake and considered to be the most potent. Astronomically known as Zeta Hydrae, it is a bright yellow giant with a spectral class of G9III; with a magnitude of 3.11 Hydrobius showers magical yellow light that can make your pulse move faster. Located some 150 light years away, with a surface heat of 4,820 Kelvin, it is about 138 times luminous as our Sun and is about 16 times its size.

9. Asterism: The star Hydrobius is one of the six stars on the hood of the serpent known as Hydra Head Asterism. Other stars in the asterism are: Delta, Epsilon, Eta, Rho and Sigma stars, all of them in the Hydra constellation.

Cosmics

The combined effect of the Full Moon in the circumstances described above gives both positive and negative cosmic results:

Positive Cosmics: More emphasis on rationality and calculation; profit or cash-flow turns out to be the only measure leaving others out; time for intellect and rational mind; more importance of law and order, compulsion on standards and ethics in business or family affairs.

Negative Cosmics: Fiery nature together with imbalance of cosmic energy of Leo and Virgo leads to temper tantrum both in office and in family affairs; Health is generally impaired; caring for others or considering the point of view of others might be skipped with disastrous consequences. Being careless could cost you more.

Improving Your Life

Few tips for improving your life till the next New Moon are given below:

1. Apply brakes in carefree lifestyle lest you make your life miserable

2. Control your tongue and temper, otherwise you are going to make the already bad atmosphere more poisonous; this applies to both in your office and in the hone front

3. Take care of pollution from the environment, as the heat generated could spell physical discomfiture

4. For those in politics, beware of conspiracy and calculated actions of your enemies; for those in higher administration in public and private sectors, you must be careful about giving nods to unsavoury and unlawful projects or actions

5. Good time for sales and marketing guys who are bent on travelling

6. For women ill-health in general and menstrual disorders in particular could be very nasty

7. Time to get married but not time to start a new romance

8. Those in financial markets, such as stock and bonds, you would better play the field widely

9. For business men new partnerships or new ventures in technology are best plays

10. Use lot of yellow in your system: yellow colour, yellow vegetables, fruits with yellow inside are the best for you

11. Fruit essence for men is blackberry; for women it is Apricot. Follow the instructions on the bottle; use two such bottles in this fortnight

12. As regards to Gems & Crystals, any yellow gems are good for this season: Yellow sapphire, Yellow topaz, Lemon topaz, Citrine, Garnet, Beryl and Zircon are generally recommended.

Are Failures Pillars of Success?

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

In our school days, we were taught a maxim: failures are pillars of success. To corroborate we were given the famous legend of Robert the Bruce, the King of Scotland, who reigned during 1306 to 1329. This brave king was fighting the war of Scottish Independence from England. Defeated consecutively and pursued by the English soldiers Robert the Bruce, the legend says, hid himself in a cave. Inside the cave he saw a spider spinning a web in the roof of it and was trying to knot from one nook to another. Failures after failures the spider finally succeeded in its effort. Inspired by this cosmic lesson, Robert the Bruce waged war once again, this time defeating the English army and finally gaining independence for Scotland.

The story apart, we were always prodded to take victory and defeat in the same stead to succeed in life. Those who flunked the Maths subject were subjected to great deal of brain-washing by our teachers. Try and try one day you will succeed was the mantra given in sufficient dose that even after our school days we go tango in trying to reach our mission against many odds.

But what happens when every thing you touch turns out to be a miserable failure? Each time you go honkers and want to make it a done thing you get the same bad result. Like president Obama you have re-set the button number of times. Still there is no sweet smell of success. What you should do? Give up? Walk away from the Situ? Throw the towel? Leave it to the Providence?

Still you have a lingering thought. Hey! This time I make it Yep! So again you try and assuage yourself nothing like trying. Then you remember somebody said “The biggest failure is not trying”. When the scorecard arrives, it is the same old story, failure once again. Finally you lose heart and ask yourself: Are Failures pillars of Success?

Now you must turn to analyse what was going on. Each time you fail you go through a system of learning and experience. Some of these are listed below:

1. The reason or reasons for the failure

2. In the same token you understand the opposite of the failure: the bases for success

3. You minutely look every angle of the issue, like a diamond merchant surveying the entire facets of a diamond

4. You take a global view, the issue at hand compared with the environment, the outside arena

5. Reasons for failure, bases of success, minute view and global view put together your learning curve has now shortened. You are in your elements now you can try once more

6. You build up faith, in you, in your ability

7. You call up your spirit, courage to make yet another shot at your desired mission

8. Now you know that you should try it differently; bringing all your strength and spirit you make a final attempt.

Alas you have failed once again in your mission; right now you should not blame yourself; neither those who are close to you such as your wife, boss, colleague nor society at large. At this point you must realise that failures are pillars of success only if you have the right Cosmics, the hidden aspects of your personality, that shape you from the time you are born.

If you act in a manner in consonance with your cosmics you succeed in your mission and in your life too. If you act in a manner contrary to your cosmics you fail in mission and in your life too. Therefore improving your chances of success in your mission and in your life depends on your understanding of the cosmics you have within you.

Do not waste any more time; understand your cosmics and start improving your life.

Jupiter Sun Conjunction February 2010

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

The annual Jupiter Sun conjunction takes place at 12.00 UTC/GMT time on February 28, 2010. You can trace your local time in reference to this. Bracing together for few moments these two planets are in Aquarius constellation at the time the event occurs. They have company of planets and stars; the location of their meeting is auspicious too. In this blog I write about the Jupiter Sun Conjunction February 2010 in terms of astronomy, stars and related cosmics in order to help you improving your life.

Astronomy

1. The conjunction takes place where Aquarius hugs the jug. In Greek mythology Aquarius is Ganymede whose job is to pour divine nectar called ambrosia to the Gods out of the jug he carries.

2. The Sun enters Aquarius constellation on February 16 and meets up with Jupiter having located itself at Right Ascension (Celestial Longitude) of 22 hours, 45 minutes and 20 seconds and at the Declination (Celestial Latitude) of South 7 degree, 53 minutes and 58 seconds. After the meeting the Sun is expected to leave Aquarius on March 11, for its pleasure spot of Pisces constellation

3. The planet Jupiter enters Aquarius constellation on January 6 and meets up with the Sun having located itself at Right Ascension (Celestial Longitude) of 22 hours, 46 minutes and 38 seconds and at the Declination (Celestial Latitude) of South 8 degree, 46 minutes and 40 seconds. After the meeting Jupiter will be hanging around in Aquarius till May 4, whence it moves to its home turf of Pisces constellation.

4. Both these planets have company from the planetary kingdom; Venus to the East and Mercury to the west both located at Aquarius constellation at that time

5. Both these planets have company of great stars as well. These stars are: Hydor to the East; Ancha to the West; Situla on the North; finally Sigma Aquarius towards South-east.

Stars

1. Hydor

Astronomically known as Lambda Aquari, Hydor is a variable star located at the bend of the steam of water or ambrosia, whichever pouring out of the Jar, the water carrier Aquarius holds. The Latin name Hydor means “water”. It is also known as “Ekkhysis” from Greek meaning “outpouring”. Belonging to the class of M 2 III, it is a red giant giving bright red hue. It is 390 light years away and has visual magnitude of 3.73. Rotating away from the Earth one mile per second it is a slow moving star sitting on the elliptical path. This star is surrounded by about 100 tiny stars. In Hindu mythology, the star Hydor symbolizes the God Varuna, who has several roles to play: the god of ocean and water; the deity of the Moon; the guardian of Western direction; the god who can revive the dead; Varuna is also classified as Ashura and Deva in Hindu mythology. The surrounding stars are 100 Adityas, celestial bodies born out of Goddess Adithi known for their skills as physicians

2. Ancha

Astronomically known as Theta Aquari, Ancha is located on the right rib of the water carrier. The name Ancha is derived from Latin to mean haunch and takes affinity to old French “hanche”. Belonging to the spectral class of G8 III, it is a yellow giant giving fantastic yellow light. It is 191 light years away and has visual magnitude of 4.17. Rotating away from the Earth nine miles per second it is on the ecliptical path. Often it is occulted (overshadowed) by the Moon and rarely by other planets. It is cooler than our Sun with about 5000 Kelvin surface heat

3. Situla

Astronomically known as Kappa Aquari, Situla is located on the top of the conical water jug. The name Situla is derived from classical Latin to mean water jug, urn or a bucket. The Arabic word “Al-Satl” seems to be more appropriate. Belonging to the spectral class of K2 III, it is a giant and cool star giving crimson hue. It is 234 light years away and has visual magnitude of 5.04. Rotating towards the Earth about five miles per second it is a binary star. Situla A is fairly hot with 4,550 Kelvin surface temperature and an orange k type giant whereas Situla B is fairly red and faint with a visual magnitude of 8.8. The combined effect leaves a crimson red colour emanating from the two stars

4. Sigma Aquarius

Astronomically it is Sigma Aquari and goes without a proper name. It is a binary white sub giant with the spectral class of A0 IVs. Its companion star is also white hence the brightness and whiteness of Sigma Aquarius makes it a notable star in the heaven. Located 265 light years away Sigma Aquarius is rotating towards the Earth Just about 7 mile per second.

All four stars can be easily traced in the following picture: Hydor is shown as “y” typed on reverse; Ancha is shown to the right close to Rho (p); Situla is sown up as “k” on top; Sigma Aquarius is shown on the bottom of the four stars square.

New Moon February 2010

Saturday, February 13th, 2010

New Moon in February 2010, heralds good tidings and at the same time cautions you to take care. In this blog post let me explain the details of the New Moon in terms of astronomy and cosmics and offer you few tips for improving your life.

February New Moon

The New Moon appears at 2.52 a.m. GMT/UTC on Sunday 14 February 2010. You have to trace your local time in reference to this.

Astronomy

At this time the Moon appears to us on earth as if in conjunction with the Sun even though both are 94 arc seconds apart. The location of the Sun and the Moon along with the nearby star Deneb Algedi is given below:

The Sun

Right Ascension (Celestial Longitude) 21 hour 50 minutes 17 seconds

Declination (Celestial Latitude) South 13 degree 5 minutes 16 seconds

The Moon

Right Ascension (Celestial Longitude) 21 hour 48 minutes 43 seconds

Declination (Celestial Latitude) South 10 degree 17minutes 53 seconds

Star Deneb Algedi

Right Ascension (Celestial Longitude) 21 hour 47 minutes 36 seconds

Declination (Celestial Latitude) South 16 degree 4 minutes 49 seconds

Obviously, there is convergence of three celestial bodies rather than any conjunction. The Moon is at apogee (farther from the Earth) at about 252,310 miles away. Illuminated less than 1 percent, the Moon cannot be seen by us. Glare of the Sun apart, the Moon’s illumination is too insignificant for it to be recognized.

Capricornus Constellation

The Moon, the Sun and the star Deneb Algedi are in the Capricornus constellation. At this time both Mercury and Neptune are also in the same constellation; Neptune farther away in the East while Mercury in the West from the Moon. The Capricornus constellation is drawn like a sea-goat and is well known as “Pan” the God of flocks, shepherds, hunting and rustic music in Greek Mythology; God “Enki” in Babylonian legends; the Matsaya (Fish) Incarnation of Lord Vishnu in Hinduism ; the God ‘Osiris” of the ancient Egypt. Both the Sun and the Moon traversing through Capricornus constellation bring two opposing forces towards equilibrium. The cosmics of the Sun is, it is a hot and dry planet whereas the cosmics of the Moon is, it is a cold and moist planet. Both mix cold with warmth dryness with moisture. Therefore, this leads to level headedness prevailing in the minds of people on the one hand and overall health and fitness on the other hand.

Lunar Mansions

The New Moon arises in the twenty-forth Lunar Mansion (Arabic Al-Manzil al- Qamar) of “Al-Sad Al-Sud” ( Fortune of the Fortunate). This lunar mansion has a mixed bag. It bestows upon you mental alertness and physical fitness; you befriend new friends or get new business contacts; you can build new houses or ventures. You can also get treatment for chronic illness with more tangible results. Yet at the same time the lunar mansion has negative results as well: You have to take care of your family affairs especially about your spouse; illicit or extra marital affairs can lead to infamy; for those who are in politics they have to be careful lest they miss their steps; for those in the business flamboyant partners or fanciful projects can spell doom. In summary the mansion is fairly weighted towards good results.

Star Deneb Algedi

Located in the fish like tail of the sea-goat Capricornus, the star Deneb Algedi is a white colour one. It is a four star system with three other members. Their combined brightness makes Deneb Algedi a blue star , perhaps the brightest of all in the sky. This star is called a metallic star combining both good and bad effects: good arising from its brightness bad emanating from its location.

Improving Your Life

1. Bring more zing and zest to your lifestyle

2. Take out the moribund look and go for a face lift; see whether your dress, hair style , mannerism can be uplifted for good results

3. While talking with friends, colleagues keep both feet on the ground; crossing the legs is a taboo; ladies take notice

4. Get more of red colour into your system: eat reddish cabbage or vegetables with red colour within; my favourite is beet root; red fruits and indeed water melon would get your cosmics flow deep inside

5. The effect of the New Moon lasts for a fortnight in general; for the first week it is intense but will peter off as it reaches the Full Moon stage some 14.8 days after the New Moon; so hurry up and make hay while the Sun shines

6. Do little bit gardening, mixing earth with water; plant new saplings; uproot dried and dead ones

7. If you suffer from chronic or severe illness get additional medicine or treatment; for those who have terminal illness, be rest assured you are given a new leash of life until the Full Moon; the ambience around you gives more potassium and magnesium but less calcium. If you are calcium deficient mark this

8. Use more of white, blue or red colours in your dress and clothes

9. Pan is the God of music and hunting so commemorate him with more music and dance

10. Any chalcedony including Agate, Aventurine , Carnelian, Chrsysoprase and Onyx, can be worn as Gems & Crystals.

Are You in the Right Job?

Friday, February 12th, 2010

If you ask this question yourself you will come out with quite a few vague statements: maybe, let me see, not at all, yes I think etc. If you ask this question from a personality counsellor he will ask you to go thru a quiz and thereafter give his findings almost similar to what you have already said. But if you analyse your cosmics you get the answer straightaway. In this blog post, let me explain about stars and elements that can determine what kind of job, you can do better.

Stars

When you are born you come under the influence of a star. We use the word star as a collective noun comprising of stars, planets, deep sky objects such as nebulae and clusters. Your stars are traced depending on your time of birth, date of birth and place of birth. Some of the stars are listed below along with the type of jobs to go with them:

Aldebaran: Multi-dimensional jobs

Alnilam: High corporate, political, military offices

Algol: Nursing, teaching, counselling and similar jobs

Antares: High positions in armed forces, regulatory offices, supervisory offices

Deneb: Operational jobs in aviation, telecast, satellite transmission; sales manager in electronic goods especially fridges, washing machines etc; manager or assistant in poultry or bird farming

Magrez: Owner director in companies dealing in domestic or global trade

Mebsuta: Middle or higher level jobs in large multi-nationals

Menkar: Junior to middle positions in public sector, non-government sector, service organizations or senior level manager in disaster management

Merak: Member of special task force, SWAT group, CIA, FBI and related institutions

Regulus: Any high office of commanding nature.

Elements

There are five elements: Fire, Spirit, Air, Water and Earth. Out of these, spirit is a late entry; originally the Greek philosophy restricted the study of elements to the first four only. Spirit as an element was introduced by Hindu and later Arab traditions. Spirit is often considered as a complement to or limiting factor for the other four elements. One of these elements would be predominant in your system. Depending on this predominant element you have to choose your job; only then, you are improving your life. Here are few suggestions:

Fire: Any jobs which requires quick action rather than delayed thinking; for example an aircraft pilot; any positions that involve actions blended with leadership; for example senior management jobs in companies; any jobs where strong and assertive behaviour is required; for example customs officer

Spirit: Any jobs in organizations that have the character of what Ralph Nader is doing in terms of reforming society or country in the field of consumerism, environment, political transparency, social progress etc. Middle to senior management positions in technology companies is also a key job area. Founders of most venture capital businesses have spirit as their predominant element

Air: Jobs ranging from Junior to senior grades in companies engaged in designing, lifestyle, entertainment, leisure etc. Best suited jobs are in operational or marketing areas; nonetheless, other areas such as finance and administration could also fit fairly well

Water: If water is your predominant element then it is better that you remain self-employed. You can take into music, arts & crafts, acting career, American Idol, speech, drama and other aesthetic areas. Water can sway others by their speech and actions; that is why most artists and celebrities have water as their predominant element

Earth: In case earth is your predominant element, then you suit well in thankless jobs such as police officers or jobs that involve hard work such as administrators in public or private sectors. Tough job of any kind is ok for you. Furthermore, positions of authority in municipal or state sectors where you have to meet everyday emergency could also be rewarding.

Menkar, Star for Disaster Management

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Natural and man made disasters strike many parts of the globe frequently. Immediately organizations such as Oxfam, Red Cross & Red Crescent Societies come to the rescue of the many people affected. The staff manning these service organizations have one thing in common, the influence of the star Menkar bestowing on them the ability in disaster management. In this blog post, I examine the star Menkar in terms of Astronomy, Constellation and Cosmics. Few tips are given in improving your life too.

Menkar in Astronomy

Menkar is a bright cool orange to reddish star beaming orange colour. The star was named after its original Arabic title “Al-Minkhar Al- Qaytaas” meaning “The Nostril of the Sea Monster”. It is in the Cetus constellation or simply “The Whale” constellation. Menkar is located on the Jaw of the giant whale alias sea monster. When you take the entire constellation per se it is located on the north-eastern part and rises fairly late in the eastern sky in the horizon. Due to the variability of its brightness, Astronomer Bayer was led to believe it as the brightest star in the Cetus constellation. Accordingly, he gave the alpha status to the star. Today, the star is considered as the second brightest one.

Menkar is astronomically referred to as “Alpha Ceti “. It is classified as “M 1.5 III a” indicating it is a cool orange giant and a variable star to boot. In its stellar evolution, Menkar is almost in the penultimate stage before its eventual death. Menkar has passed the early stages such as fusing hydrogen to helium, helium to carbon and now it is in the stage of contracting the remaining carbon at the core. Consequently the star is shedding its outer layers made of hydrogen. Once this stage is passed, Menkar is set to explode as a planetary nebula. Thereafter, perhaps the remaining rump part of the star could turn out to be a large white dwarf star.

A third magnitude star in brightness in the scale at 2.5, Menkar is located in Right Ascension (Celestial Longitude) 3 hour 2 minutes and 49 seconds and Declination (Celestial Latitude) 4 degree 7 minutes and 44 seconds north. Menkar has surface temperature of 3,700 Kelvin and is about 380 times luminous than the Sun. It is about 220 light years away and about 84 times the size of the Sun. It is a horizon star and is moving away from earth at a speed of 16 miles per second. Menkar is known for special features:

1. Its brightness vary in an irregular manner; being a giant star it is given an astronomical short hand “Lb “ which conveys to the laymen “ the brightness of this giant star varies in irregular manner “

2. Menkar emits radio waves as a result of cool winds on its surface. This may also have caused the orange colour beamed from the star throughout despite its variability of its brightness

3. Menkar is the last important star to rise in the Cetus constellation as it is located in the north-eastern part of Cetus

4. Menkar has steadily and greatly lost its carbon content after it entered the third stage of contracting carbon at the core. This means that Menkar is on the fast track to become a planetary nebula compared with other stars.

Cetus Constellation

Let me say few things about Cetus constellation. The word Cetus comes from Latin, meaning a whale. According to Greek Legend it all started when Cassiopeia queen of Cepheus, the King of Ethiopia, boasted that her beauty surpasses that of the sea nymphs Nereids. Hearing this impertinent statement, Poseidon (Neptune in Latin), the Lord of the ocean and father of the Nereids sent storms to ravage the Ethiopian sea coast. When Cepheus consulted the Oracle he was advised that as atonement for the vanity of his queen he must chain his daughter Andromeda in the sea to be devoured by the sea monster Cetus, who appears in the form of a Giant Whale. Later on Cetus is seen travelling towards Andromeda, the virgin who is chained to the rock to be devoured by him. Before Cetus can finish his job, Perseus the hero appears. He has in his hand the Head of Gordon Medusa. Perseus shows this head to Cetus; on seeing Medusa, Cetus is turned into a stone. There the sea monster lies eternally.

On the contrary, Gerardus D Bouw, writing in Biblical Astronomer No 104, traces the Cetus story from Nineveh, the Assyrian capital city on the bank of the Tigris River that was revived by God after the Ninevites repented as preached by Prophet Jonah. Obviously, the whale that swallowed Jonah could easily be traced to Cetus.

Whatever the story is, Cetus constellation is largely a southern constellation with few stars above the celestial equator. It is fourth largest constellation in the known sky. This constellation has several notable stars: Deneb Kaitos, Menkar , Baton Kaitos, Al Kaf Al Jidhmah, Deneb and Mira.

Cosmics

Menkar is located just above the celestial equator and always rises in the horizon. It can influence a person in four counts:

1. Birth star sighted by the Moon

2. Lucky star sighted by one of the other six planets

3. Rising star

4. Culminating star

Positive Cosmics

1. Menkar makes you a ‘service to humanity” person. You have charitable nature in helping affected people during calamities. It can be natural disaster such as an earthquake or a man made disaster such as arson. Whatever the nature of the disaster you are one of the few to rush in with whatever help you can garner

2. Though you often languish in the cocoon shelf of your office when the moment arrives you rise to the occasion with speed and agility second to none

3. Quick analysis is your hallmark and moving men and logistics under trying conditions is the task made for you

4. You will not easily give up in your actions be it in the office or in the sports ground. Your enthusiasm never fades

5. Plump, fat with an over sized belly and besotted with un-combed hair you are, in appearance wise an anti-thesis to the heroes in the celluloid films; but when it comes to work you are marvellous and often get adulation from many quarters.

Negative Cosmics

1. The chief negative is that you are too emotional; if anything is denied you are going to take it up grudgingly and wait for the moment to demonstrate that the other party is simply wrong

2. You can be caught in a web of deceit especially in relation to financial scandals or in extra marital affairs

3. You are prone to major accidents resulting in the loss of life or limb; you are also susceptible to major breakdowns in terms of health

4. As you tread the path of helping people in the throes of crisis the chance of tripping onto electricity wire or stung by venomous snakes or attacked by hyenas and other predators cannot be over-emphasized.

Improving Your Life

The following are few recommendations to improve your life:

1. You should select white, green orange and light colours for your dress

2. Numbers 1, 5 & 8 do wonders for you

3. You must sleep, keeping your head towards the south -east

4. You must join social services or disaster management or special services organizations

5. Single marriage lasts till end

6. It would be better for you to be in the public service or work for a Non-Governmental Organizations(NGO)

7. You should use the combination of alphabets “H “ in name or user name or pet name

8. You must develop lifestyle where your suitcase is stuffed and ready to fly away on call. Like in the Lyrics of a Jim Reeves number “ I hear the sound of distant drums” you wait for the mobile to ring for the call of duty

9. During leisure, enjoy at home peacefully.

Merak, Star that Girds Up Your Loin

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

Are you prepared for action at any time like the legendary SWAT Team? If yes, you have something to do with the star Merak, a fabulous star in the north-eastern sky ever so present to keep you ever so prepared. In this blog post, I examine the star Merak in terms of Astronomy, Asterism and Cosmics and outline recommendations for improving your life.

Astronomy

Merak is a bright hot star beaming with white colour tinged in green shade in the north eastern sky. The word Merak comes from Arabic “Al-Maraak Al- Dubb Al- Akbar” meaning “the Loin of the Great Bear”. It is located in Ursa Major constellation or simply “Great Bear” constellation. Merak is a part of seven star combinations known as Big Dipper Asterism. Fabulously dazzling in colour, Merak is the fifth brightest star in the Great Bear constellation, even though Astronomer Bayer in his classification gave the second place to the star by allotting the Greek letter Beta.

Merak is astronomically referred to as “Beta Ursa Major“. It is classified as A1V indicating it is white dwarf main sequence star like our Sun, fusing hydrogen to helium in its core. A third magnitude star in brightness in the scale of at 2.3, Merak is located in Right Ascension (Celestial Longitude) 11 hour 2 minutes and 27 seconds and Declination (Celestial Latitude) 56 degree 19 minutes and 41 seconds. Merak has surface temperature of 9,600 Kelvin and is about 70 times luminous than the Sun. It is about 70 light years away and about 3 times the size of the Sun. It is fairly a northern star and is moving away from earth at a speed of 7.5 miles per second. Merak is known for various features:

1. As a Pointing star: if you draw an imaginary line from Merak thru Dubhe and go up North you would arrive at the Polar Star

2. As a star with a Disk: Like the planet Saturn, the star Merak has a cooling disk surrounding it; It gives an excellent colour combination of white with greenish tinge. Various theories abound for this phenomenon. One is that the surrounding area has heated dust that gives infra-red light translating into a fascinating colour; the other is that the star Merak might have a planet orbiting it

3. Merak is located 56 degree north; therefore it is a circumpolar star that is, never setting for those who live in areas 30 degrees north

4. In close proximity to Merak, but towards the west there is a planetary nebula known as “Owl Nebula” classified as NGC 3587 or Messier Object M 97.

Asterism

Merak is a part of the Big Dipper Asterism, the most famous out of all asterisms. Big Dipper is also known as Wagon in USA and Plough in UK. The appropriate word is ladle because all the seven stars in the asterism form a ladle. This asterism is noted in astronomy because the seven stars in the asterism are related to each other in terms of speed; motion and the direction towards these are moving away from earth. This remarkable fact is known as “Ursa Major Moving Group”. The seven stars in the asterism are: Dubhe, Merak, Megrez, Phekda, Alioth, Mizar and Alkaid. In Hindu mythology the asterism is called Saptha Rishi (Seven Stages) and they are represented as stars in the following manner: Kratu as Dubhe; Pulaha as Merak ; Atri as Megrez; Pulastya as Phekda; Angiras as Alioth; Vasishta as Mizar; Bhrigu as Alkaid. Out of these sages, Pulaha personified as Merak was born from the Navel of the God Brahma.

Cosmics

Merak does not figure as a birth star, sighted by the Moon or lucky star sighted by other six planets because it is far away from the ecliptical plane. Hence, Merak can influence your life as a rising star or a culminating star only. However, the effect of the star Merak is not much pronounced in cases of persons who are born in locations above 30 degree north in latitude or below 30 degree south in latitude. This is because for those who are born in locations above 30 degree north the star Merak never sets and to those who are born in locations below 30 degree south the star Merak never rises.

Positive Cosmics

1. Merak girds up your loin; you are always ready for action; you are blessed with the ability to take stock of the situation, develop your strategies and tactics, implement these in optimum manner and go towards your stated goals

2. Merak gives you uncanny wisdom appropriate for those who are to make decision at the spur of the moment like members of the legendary SWAT Team, Commandos, Business Negotiators and CEOs of large corporations

3. Merak also gives you smart look; bright in outlook; taking responsibility and always moving forward

4. Merak gets you the pleasures of life but as you start to enjoy there is a call from your boss or office to handle another assignment. Like James Bond in the movie you have little time to enjoy the plums of life that is spread all over you.

Negative Cosmics

1. You need to put lot of acting under pressure or under a guise; hence real love and fondness escape from you

2. You can be caught in a web of deceit

3. You will also develop erratic behaviour pattern in sex, family and business relations as time goes on.

Improving Your Life

The following are few recommendations to improve your life:

1. You should select white, green and light colours for your dress

2. Numbers 2, 5 & 8 do wonders for you

3. You must sleep, keeping your head towards the south -west

4. You must join special services in the armed forces

5. Marriage through love at first sight is shown, but bewares of it

6. Any business where quick decision making is involved could fit your bill

7. You should use the combination of alphabets “S “and “L” in your name

8. You must develop lifestyle to go with “on the job and always moving scenario”

9. During leisure, be homely as far as possible because you are having enough out door activities; now is the time to look at the home front and to look after the welfare of your family.

Does Moon Cause Mood Swings?

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Moon causes mood swings, true or false. Ask this question from a doctor the answer would be a thundering No. Ask this from a farmer in the village the reply would be a smiling Yes. Most pragmatic people concede that the Moon influences them in their moods and emotions. In this blog post let me give you some ideas about the Moon and how its cosmics influence your moods.

The Moon

In Astronomy, the Moon is the closest celestial body to the Earth. In fact the Moon is not a planet; it is just a satellite. The Moon orbits the Sun, however as it is gravitationally linked to the Earth It rotates around the Earth as well. The Moon was once part of the Earth. Millenniums ago a celestial body by the name of “Theia” struck the original Earth to break it into two pieces: The broken out part emerged as the Moon the remaining part continued as the Earth.

The Moon revolves around the Earth and it takes 29.56 days to complete a cycle. In this revolution the Moon goes into phases or lunation cycles. The Moon’s journey has eight such phases: New Moon, Waxing Crescent, First Quarter, Waxing Gibbous, Full Moon, Waning Gibbous, Last Quarter and Waning Crescent (Balsamic Moon). Out of these eight Moon phases the New Moon and Full Moon are noted as regards to their gravitational influence in opposite directions. Full Moon pulls you whereas New Moon dulls you. Waxing Crescent and Waning Gibbous have similarity in the degree of gravitational pull; First Quarter and Last Quarter are equal in their gravitational influence.

Moreover, the Moon wobbles on his erratic and elliptical path thereby at times it gets closer to the Earth and at times it is farthest from the Earth. These aspects are called perigee and apogee:

1. Perigee: This is the point where the Moon is closest to the Earth in its revolution. The closest perigee recorded is 221,440 miles from the Earth. At this moment the Moon has the highest pulling power

2. Apogee: This is the point where the Moon is farthest from the Earth in its revolution. The farthest apogee recorded is 252,730 miles from the Earth. At this moment the Moon has reduced pulling power.

Cosmics

A combination of moon phases especially the Full Moon and the Perigee Moon causes several disturbances on Earth which we call simply as cosmics of the Moon:

1. Illumination of the Moon

The illumination of the Moon can reach as high as 99. 99 %. This is referred to as Bright Moonlight.

2. Water Bodies

The oceans rise causing high tides and tidal waves lashing at the shores. Most water bodies such as rivers, tributaries, lakes, ponds an springs get hyper-active and violently bubble. Under-water currents are very active and might travel in a haphazard manner. In rivers and estuaries water curling ups are experienced. In muddy water bodies twirling water can sap swimmers into the depth of water resulting in instant death. However, the biggest impact is on the human beings: fluctuating moods and emotions.

3. Mood Swings

Both men and women are subject to mood swings of varied degree. Some men are susceptible to high mood swings, while others experience low mood swings and still few others relatively mild or no mood swings:

3.1. A high degree of sexual arousal is experienced in women; in the case of men the sexuality could turn out to be fairly violent. Sometimes they tend to use force on sexual partners or masturbate. Making sex during this time does not give mutual satisfaction to partners

3.2. Generally the Moon influences the endocrine system; Pituitary, Hypothalamus, Thyroid, Adrenal, Thymus, Pineal , Prostrate, Pancreas glands together with Gonad, Sex and Sweat glands are all impacted by the Moon. Furthermore, vital organs, nerves, blood cells, and body cells are also affected by the Moon

3.3. The energy produced within the body system experiences see-saw pattern; consequently either you brim with vitality or complain about loss of concentration

3.4. The aspect of criminality raises its head; surprisingly more crimes take place during bright Moon than dark Moon

3.5. More people get into injury or cause injury on others; those who are prone to accidents and falls have tendency to suffer more

3.6. Emotional instability is yet another disturbance caused by the Moon especially in those who are engaged in stressful jobs and vocations or having competitive lifestyle

3.7. Mentally retarded children would experience fall in their cognitive ability, while those who are insane or on the borderline might engage in madder actions than ever.

What You Should Do?

1. Be prepared to handle Moon related disturbances that could severely affect members of your family

2. Do your planning well by checking the date of Full Moon and Perigee Moon. When the time gap between Perigee Moon and the Full Moon is less than six hours the impact of these disturbances is very high. So diarise the full Moon days. A worked example along with my interpretation is given below:

Month: January

Date: 30

Perigee Moon: 9.04 a.m. (UTC/GMT)

Full Moon: 6.19 a.m. (UTC/GMT)

Illumination: 99.87%

Time Gap: Less than 6 hours

Constellation: Cancer

As you are aware, when Full Moon is in the Cancer constellation the gravitational pull is exacerbated as Cancer is described as a dark constellation with lesser bright stars around. The only salutary factor is the illumination rate which is fairly low. You should exercise extreme caution in the course of this day as the Mood Swings could turn out to be more violent than you foresee.

Deneb, White Star of Fortune

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

After sun set during months between June till October, you are marvelled to see a bright white star in the north-eastern sky. Known as the summer star, Deneb is fascinatingly luminous. If you are born under the star you soar in wealth and fame. Let me explain about the star Deneb in this blog post, outlining its astronomy, cosmics and how you can start improving your life and lifestyle.

Astronomy

The full name of the star “Deneb” is ‘Deneb Adige” which is derived from Arabic “Al-Dhanab Al-Dajajah” meaning “Tail of the Hen”. It has couple of aliases too. One is the name of “Aridef” given from the Arabic word “Al-Ridhf” which means ‘Innermost” as Deneb is located in the tail of the swan much deep in the constellation. Another name is “Arion” one of the Lyre-players who was turned into a swan by Zeus. The star’s location in the Cygnus constellation is very unique. Whether the wings are outstretched or folded the star Deneb remains prominent and colourful.

There are number of stars in vogue carrying the common name “Deneb” meaning the tail in Arabic. Deneb Algedi and Deneb Kaitos are few of the examples. But out of all these stars Deneb Adige is the most brightest and brilliant. Hence, we call the star simply as “Deneb”. Astronomically known as Alpha Cygni, Deneb is the number one star in the Cygnus constellation. Cygnus means a swan. Deneb is a variable star located at Right Ascension (Celestial longitude) of 20 hours 41 minutes and 44 seconds and Declination (Celestial latitude) of 45 degree and 18 minutes. If you look at the star intently against the background of the nearby sky you will notice three important shapes:

1. The Northern Cross where the star Deneb is on the head, with four other stars in centre, foot, right and left of the cross

2. A flying swan with outstretched wings with the star Deneb on the tail part

3. A Summer Triangle formed by Deneb along with stars Vega and Altair.

Though Deneb is the brightest star in the Cygnus constellation, it is just the nineteenth brightest in the known sky. A blue-white super giant its apparent magnitude is 1.25, but its real or absolute magnitude must be very much higher as Deneb is about 66,500 light years away from us. It has several unique qualities:

1. It is the largest white star known to us with 20 times the size of our Sun and with a diameter of about 116 times that of the Sun

2. Its brightness changes slightly due to pulsation; Deneb has become a prototype of this type of phenomenon called “Alpha Cygni Variables” extended to other stars that pulsate in similar manner

3. Deneb is moving away from the Earth at two and half miles per second

4. Deneb has stopped fusing hydrogen at the core; heavily lashed by stellar winds, it is losing its mass steadily. Consequently, Deneb a blue- white star at present would evolve to be a red giant and then explode as a supernova after millions of years hence

5. At present, the star generates 8400 Kelvin heat giving fantastic white colour rays wherein all the colours are present in equal strength as white is the mother of all colours

6. Deneb is also surrounded by nebula; one such nebula is North America Nebula or NGC 7000

6. Deneb figures in several science fiction films such as “Star Trek”, as it remains one of the keenly watched and well –researched stars in the heaven.

Asterism

Deneb forms the Northern Cross Asterism, the one that attracts attention during the summer sky. This asterism is noted in astronomy because it arises almost in the parallel position to the star Canopus in the north eastern sky. The Northern Cross is formed by:

1. Deneb on the head

2. Sadr (Gamma Cygni) in the centre; the name Sadr from Arabic “Al-Sadr Al -Dajajah” meaning ‘Breast of the Hen”

3. Albiero ( Beta Cygni) at the foot; alternate name is Minhar from Arabic “ Al-Minhar Al-Dajajah” meaning “Beak of the Hen”

4. Delta Cygni on the left; called variably as ‘ Rukh” and Al-Fawaris” meaning ‘Mythical bird’ and ‘Rider” respectively

5. Gienah (Epsilon Cygni) on the right; the name Gienah from Arabic “ Al-Janah Al-Dajajah” meaning ‘ Wing of the Hen”.

Cygnus Constellation

There are several legends of Cygnus constellation in the Greek Mythology. Two of these are well known:

1. When Leda is married to Tyndareus King of Sparta, Zeus creeps into her bedroom in the wedding night and seduces her; as a result of the union she gives birth to a son by the name of Pollux of Gemini fame. Hence, the swan is placed in the heavens

2. Orpheus and Arion are two lyre players,; Orpheus was killed while he was in a drunken state. Zeus placed both of them as musicians for eternity in the form of a flying swan.

Cosmics

Deneb does not figure as a birth star, sighted by the Moon or lucky star sighted by other six planets because it is far away from the ecliptical plane. Hence, Deneb can influence your life as a rising star or a culminating star only. However, the effect of the star Deneb is not much pronounced in cases of persons who are born in locations above 30 degree north in latitude or below 30 degree south in latitude. This is because for those who are born in locations above 30 degree north the star Deneb never sets and to those who are born in locations below 30 degree south the star Deneb never rises.

Improving Your Life

Considering the positive and negative cosmics of the star Deneb the following are brief recommendations given for improving your life:

1. You should select blue, white or bright colours for your upper and lower garments

2. Numbers 2, 4 and 5 should do wonders for you

3. You must sleep, keeping your head towards the direction of North – East

4. You must select business or profession that deals with aviation, broadcast, telecast or satellite transmission

5. You can also deal in poultry farming and related areas

6. Dealing in white goods such as fridges and washing machines could lead to prosperity

7. Industries such as Music and films and Leisure & tourism could be more rewarding

8. You should work in pleasant areas and shun areas of rough and tumble

9. Your marriage life soars in the beginning and falls flat in the end; hence you should take care

10. You should use the alphabet “R” in the name; if this is not possible get username, pet name or business name in this manner.

Mebsuta, Star of Love and Vitality

Monday, January 25th, 2010

After a hectic and stressful day in office you are still fresh and willing to drop your colleague miles away from your home. How did you get all love and vitality? One explanation: you are born with the star Mebsuta guiding you. This fascinating star makes an ordinary person a caring and at the same time strong leader. Let me explain about the star Mebsuta in this blog post outlining, its astronomy and Cosmics, so that you can change your lifestyle and embark upon improving your life.

1) Astronomy

The name of the star Mebsuta is derived from Arabic “Al-Mabsuta” meaning “outstretched”. Astronomically known as Epsilon Gemini, Mebsuta is a double star in the Gemini constellation. Located in the ecliptical plane, this star is often passed by the Moon technically known as “occulted”. Other planets whistle by, but occultation is somewhat rare. The last incident of such occultation occurred on August 4, 1976 when Mars passed by Mebsuta.

Location of Mebsuta is interesting; from its position at Right Ascension (Celestial longitude) 6 hours 44 minutes and 33 seconds and Declination (Celestial latitude) of 25 degree 7 minutes and 14 seconds if you draw a line to south-east you will notice a three star combination. The first one being Mebsuta on the top, the second one in middle being Mekbuda (known as Zeta Gemini) and the last one being Kebash (known as Lambda Gemini). Interestingly Mebsuta is just above the ecliptical plane whereas Mekbuda just below the ecliptical line.

Fifth brightest star in the Gemini Constellation, Mebsuta is considered as a double star. The primary star has 3.2 magnitude of brightness and glows in white to yellowish colour. Its companion however is a small 9.5 magnitude blue star. The latter appears to our eyes as close to star Mebsuta though it is about 110 arc seconds away in the deep sky. Star Mebsuta is burning helium at the core like our Sun and losing its mass steadily. As a rare type of super giant, Mebsuta is much cooler than our Sun at 4,360 Kelvin belying its classification as “G8Ib Star” generally given to yellow stars like our Sun whose surface temperature must be above 5000 Calvin. This may be due to its long distance at 900 light years away and its brightness in luminosity of some 7,600 times the Sun and its size of about 150 times the Sun. What a great super giant!

2) Cosmics

2.1) Gemini Constellation

The legend of Gemini constellation is well known. In Greek Mythology, Gemini relates to twin brothers born to one mother and two fathers. Pollux the elder was born to Zeus who creeps in on the wedding night of Leda as a Swan and beds her; Castor was born to Tyndareus, King of Sparta to whom Leda is lawfully wedded. While Pollux is immortal Castor is mortal. Pollux is a pugilist whereas Castor is a horseman. Both are inseparable twins. Castor was fatally wounded in a battle with Idas who is their mutual cousin. Pollux could not console himself with the death of his twin brother and pleads with Zeus to take his life as well. Zeus so impressed by the brotherly love shown by Pollux towards Castor, places them in the sky as immortal stars symbolizing love and affection between two brothers. The star Mebsuta is located on the right knee of Castor. Interestingly, the star Mekbuda mentioned earlier is located on the left knee of Pollux. The ancients used to swear by the name of Gemini when making oaths or transactions.

2.2) Lunar Mansion

Mebsuta is in the sixth Lunar Mansion (Arabic Al- Manzil Al-Qamar) of “Al- Hannah (The Mark)”. Those who are born under this lunar mansion have noble virtues; they work hard and never lose their love and vitality. This lunar mansion has a mixed bag; on one hand it makes a person born under it to toil hard ; on the other hand it preserves such persons unscathed from failures and disappointments making them paragons of virtue.

2.3) Improving Your Life

Mebsuta can influence your life as a Birth star, Rising star, Culminating star and Lucky star depending on the sky map cast at the time, date and place of your birth. Considering the positive and negative Cosmics of the star Mebsuta the following are brief recommendations given for improving your life:

1. You should select blue, white, yellow and light colours for your upper garments such as shirts and blazers; choose dark shades for lower garments such as trousers and skirts

2. Numbers 1, 2 and 6 should do wonders for you

3. You must sleep, keeping your head towards the direction of North – West

4. You must select business or profession that does not conflict with nature but helps people to live with nature

5. You can also select trading goods or services across the oceans

6. Industries such as Music and films, Leisure & tourism, Fashion & entertainment could be more rewarding

7. You should be a peace activist and heavily charity minded

8. You are One-marriage person; therefore select your partner wisely

9. You should use the alphabet “K” or “Q” in your name; if this is not possible get username, pet name or business name in this manner

10. On your study or work table keep a model of ship with floating sails. The replica in wood is recommended

11. During leisure, play flute or melodious instrument that uses wind; watch films that depict love and affection or arts and nature

12. Take lot of care on your feet, knee downwards; special attention must be paid to your right knee; any knee injury would be debilitating and fatal too.

Tips for Moonbathing

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

You go for sunbathing but do not bother about the Moon that gives you light that is cool and refreshing. By bathing under the moonlight you can regain your lost energy and enthusiasm. What you need are few tips for Moonbathing. This blog post does that for you.

Moonbathing

Moonbathing is not well known in many parts of the world. While people flock to beaches for sunbathing from one corner of the globe to another they would not even step out to their back garden to bask under the cooling rays of the moonlight. There are two reasons for this: One is sunbathing is a day time affair where fun and frolic are order of the day not to mention socialising much sought after by sunbathers. Second reason is the illumination from moonlight compared with sunlight is too fractional to be considered anything worthy.

But the fact remains that moonbathing is as important as sunbathing; the benefits derived from moonbathing are equally important. Both sunbathing and moonbathing grant you different types of Cosmics. While sunbathing gives you male energy known as yang moonbathing affords you with the female energy known as yin. Purely yang makes you energetic but dries your feelings and emotions; by the same token exclusive yin energy glides you to float in sensitivity but depletes your orientation for action.

Moonbathing changes your lifestyle. For example a hot tempered person can become cooler and perhaps saner after continuous moonbathing for sometime. There is not a single defect in a moonbath to my knowledge. People can avoid sunbath if they have skin ailments. In the case of moonbath even a person dying of a terminal disease could drive some cosmic benefits. Hence, moonbathing is an essential feature in improving your life. In order to understand moonbathing and make it effective, it is necessary to learn about moonlight. The following are key features of moonlight:

1. Moonlight is not original one attributed to the Moon; it is in fact reflected light of the Sunlight absorbed by the Moon and showered on earth

2. Illumination of moonlight is fractional; in the temperate zones it is about one over 500,000 times of the sunlight; in tropical it can increase to about one over 250,000 of the sunlight

3. Due to insufficient illumination, the colour sensory ability of our eyes is impaired in moonlight. Hence, in moonlight you have either black or white. Moreover, the size dimension gets twisted. You will not be able to get the proper dimensions right. Hence, in moonlight a tree may appear bigger than in sunlight or artificial light.

4. Illumination of moonlight progresses as the Moon goes through phases known as lunation cycles. The moonlight gets brighter from the first quarter; more luminous in the waxing Gibbous and culminates on full moon day. It wanes thereafter in the Waning Gibbous and by the time it reaches end of the Waning Gibbous moonlight dims out. Roughly the time for moonbathing is, therefore, between 8 to 21 lunar days. This period is alternately knows as bright moon days

5. The Moon grows by each night. Instead of calling these as nights we use “lunar days” to identify the age of the Moon.

Tips for Moonbathing

1. Choose the Lunation Cycle right for you:

First Quarter: Ranges from eighth till eleventh lunar day. During these four nights you can moonbathe till about the midnight. This time is ideal for teens, convalescing persons and those who work in finance and banking sector

Waxing gibbous: Ranges from twelfth to fourteenth lunar day. During these three nights you can moonbathe between 10.00 p.m. till well past midnight. This lunation cycle is ideal for housewives, pregnant ladies or nursing mothers and those who work in teaching or educational related sectors

Full Moon: This Moon is also called as Night Moon because it is there in the sky the entire night. It appears for two days fifteenth and sixteenth lunar days. You can moon bathe from 8.00 p.m. till the wee hours as you please. This moon phase is excellent for artists, managers and business owners or persons involved in business related activities

Waning Gibbous: This phase has five days from seventeenth to twenty-first lunar days. The Moon rises late in the night in east and sets after Sun-rise. You will observe that the Moon is giving much cooler even though paler light. You can moonbathe around midnight till about 4.00 a.m. This suits fine for senior citizens and those who are serving in armed forces or regulatory bodies

2. Moon is for all seasons: spring, summer, autumn (fall) and winter. Depending on your personal preference you can choose the season for moonbathing:

Spring Moon: Silvery light with greenish tinge; calming and at the same time rejuvenating ambience

Summer Moon: Yellow light with orange overtones; more pulsating energy along with refreshed ambience

Autumn Moon: Mellow light with violet undertones; glowing in calmness and serenity

Winter Moon: Blue to silver; sense of silence with an echo of silent sound reverberating

3. Dress: You can dress decently with loose fitting garments; you can leave upper torso bare, unless civility dictates otherwise. During winter, you need protective garments

4. Manner: You can choose to stroll or sit in a wooden chair or rest / sleep in a couch

5. Eating and Drinking: You can eat or drink as you please but it would be better to avoid liquor

6. Seeing and Viewing: If it is possible, look at the Moon as often as necessary

7. Touching and Massaging: As you moonbathe you should fondle, tap, squeeze, touch and massage your body especially on the upper torso

8. Once the moonbath is completed do not wipe your body unless you need to get rid of any snow, bird droppings, dust and pigments of leaves

9. Retire to bed straight away.

Easy Guide to Paring Nails

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Paring nail is a mundane task, so you thought. Like every activity paring nails also has do and avoid lists in its rule book. If you keep to this rulebook you can improve your Cosmics which in turn helps improving your life too. This blog post gives you an easy guide to paring nails in nutshell in the form of Do and Avoid List.

Do List

1. Keep nail clippers and nail files for strictly personal use

2. Good days for paring nails are: Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. For children below the age of 13 it is better to pare nails on Wednesdays. Morning hours are recommended

3. Before starting, you must soak your fingers and toes in water for few minutes and wipe these dry

4. There are two activities: clipping and filing. First you do the clipping and then the filing. The procedure is given below:

Firstly clip nails on the right hand starting from the right thumb and ending with the small finger. Thereafter, use the nail file to smooth the end and edges of the nails starting from thumb finger and ending with the small finger. Now shift to the left hand and do the same way

When it comes to toe nail the sequence is changed. Firstly you clip toe nails on the right foot starting from the little toe and ending with the big toe known as Hallux. Thereafter, use the nail file to smooth the end and edges of the toe nails starting from little toe and ending with the big toe. Now shift to the left foot and do the same way

5. After paring nails, use a disinfectant to wash your fingers and the toes thoroughly and wipe these dry

6. The cut nails from fingers and toes should be preferably disposed by burying these in the sand. If this is not possible use water in the wash basin to flush these out

7. You can clip finger nails once in a fortnight; as regards to toe nails you can pare either fortnightly or monthly as the case may be

8. During emergency such as physical injury to the nails, this Do List can be ignored.

Avoid List

1. Do not trample upon the cut pieces of nails

2. You should never burn cut pieces of nails in any manner

3. Do not leave cut pieces of nails inside the house unattended, as it leads to poverty and ill-health

4. You should not clip nails on Mondays, the first day of the calendar month, the first day of the New Moon and on the Full Moon day. Solar eclipse takes place on the first day of the New Moon and Lunar Eclipse on the Full Moon day and clipping nails in these days is a taboo in terms of Cosmics

5. Women who have just conceived should not pare nails for 21 days from the day of conception lest it leads to complications during pregnancy

6. Never bite nails as this is injurious to health especially the intestine

7. Dreaming cut pieces of nails results in abject poverty or terminal illness; hence if you have such dreams consult an elder or medical professional promptly.

When does the Day Begin?

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

International Time Standards mandate the day to begin at midnight. Although this is suitable for communication and transaction purposes it does not help you in understanding your personality or ability. There is an alternative based on Sun rise time where the day begins with the sun up. In this blog post I introduce the alternative system based on sun rise for you to get a feel of it.

Day

A day has two manifestations; the first one is the day of the week. Traditionally the days in a week start from Sunday and end in Saturday. Till very recently calendars showed the days in a week in this manner. The second manifestation is the date which ranges from 1 to 31( maximum) days in a month. A day is considered to have 24 hours or 1,440 minutes or 86,400 seconds. We call this as a solar day.

Beginning of a Day

There are three ways in which the beginning of a day is announced:

1. International Time Standards dictate that the day begins at 12.00 midnight or put it other way 00.00 a.m. This time system is universally accepted for communication and transactions. Strangely, the day begins in dark under this calculation. Let us assume Sunday 24 January 2010 as a day for our calculation. The day number 24 and the day of Sunday therefore begin at Saturday midnight or Sunday morning of zero hour and zero minute

2. Arabic Hebrew Systems command that the day begins when the sun sets in a particular country. Once again this is a strange phenomenon where the day begin with the onset of darkness. Let us assume Sunday 24 January 2010 as a day for our calculation and we take the locality as London in United Kingdom. The day number 24 and the day of Sunday therefore begin on Sundown of the previous day that is Saturday 23 January 2010

3. Vedic Indian System reasons out that the day begins on Sunrise in a particular locality. Let me give you Sun Rise Chart for London, United Kingdom for the week starting on Sunday, 24 January:

Sun Rise Data for London – fourth week

24-January-2010 Sunday 7.50 a.m.

25-January-2010 Monday 7.49 a.m.

26-January-2010 Tuesday 7.48 a.m.

27-January-2010 Wednesday 7.46 a.m.

28-January-2010 Thursday 7.45 a.m.

29-January-2010 Friday 7.43 a.m.

30-January-2010 Saturday 7.42 a.m.

Under this system the day number 24 and the day of Sunday therefore begin with Sunup on Sunday at 7.50 am. It is significant, that the Sun rise time tend to vary for given days.

Cosmics

While International Time Standards are appropriate for communication and transaction purposes these cannot help you in understanding your personality or ability. Day must break-out with light. What else can do this aspect other than the Sun. Hence, I hold with the Vedic Indian System that has reasoned out the sun up as the appropriate time to begin a day. Furthermore, this system is much more relevant and meaningful in terms of Cosmics: the hidden aspects that help unravel your personality, fame and fate. To illustrate, let me analyse two sets of birth data occurring on Wednesday 27 January 2010.

1. Baby born at 7.00 a.m. in London: The birth characteristics of this baby relate to Tuesday and the ruling number is 26 which is further reduced to number 8. This baby will grow to be an active, aggressive, engaged in indoor sports, relying more on physical energy but at times moody

2. Baby born at 8.00 a.m. in London: The birth characteristics of this baby relate to Wednesday and the ruling number is 27 which is further reduced to number 9. This baby will grow to be an intelligent,  artistic, engaged in outdoor sports relying more on mental energy most of the time cheery.

When you re-cast your birth details in terms of Sun rise data, you will get more insight into your personality and understand what you can do better in improving your life. Keep in your mind that to understand your Cosmics you need to shift to the Sunrise time.

Sneezing is Welcome

Friday, January 8th, 2010

Lord Murugan and Goddess Valli two of the Hindu Deities in love are to exchange the vows of marriage and as the moment approaches, the priest sneezes. So the divine nuptial is postponed to the following year. This scene is reminiscent of the tradition associated with the aspect of a simple sneeze, a biological re-action that is steeped in tradition. In this blog post, I write about sneezing and what it means to you in terms of cosmics.

Sneezing

Sneezing is an expulsion of air from the lungs through the nose as well as mouth. It is normally considered as a healthy biological re-action. Nevertheless, for those who are around the sneezer it may mean different things and may be even un-healthy if the sneezer does not cover the volley of air and moisture landing on them.

Sneezing though looks very simple is a complicated body re-action, co-ordinated by the sneeze centre located in your brain. It involves muscles in abdomen, chest, vocal chords, diaphragm, throat, mouth, nose and eyelids. While sneezing your heart beats slower, your speech is interrupted, your eyes close and your lungs constrict to expel the air. The speed of sneezing averages between 60 to 120 miles per hour. Strong men record higher speeds than the weaker ones; Sneezing in men is faster than in women; Young have more forceful sneeze than the old do.

Causes

This natural phenomenon is the way the body adjusts to an external cause such as foreign matter or ambience or caused by an internal issue. The following are some of the chief causes:

1. Any foreign particle or irritant being attached to the nasal tract thereby disturbing the mucous membrane

2. Any viral infection or any virus that has made a temporary home in the nasal tract causing swelling and subsequent irritation

3. Dusty ambience

4. Common cold, Flu or Infection in the respiratory track

5. Wearing clothes that are dusty; where dust mites thrive

6. High pollen count in the air

7. Allergy caused by animal dander; hair , feathers, scales of skin and other materials shed from the body by pets , reptiles and others

8. In rare cases when a person eats to a full stomach

9. A person with cold body might start to sneeze when exposed to sunlight or bright artificial light; this is known as photic sneeze

10. A person with hot body might start to sneeze when exposed to cold wind or water.

Precaution

Following guidelines help you in managing sneeze and in improving your life:

1. Always keep a handkerchief or tissue stand by so that you can warp it around the nose to absorb the air and moisture lest it disturbs others

2. Do not close your nose or mouth when sneezing

3. If you have frequent bouts of sneezing do not drive vehicles

4. If you have difficulty in sneezing learn to take deep breath

5. If you get a sensation of sneezing but the actual sneeze does not take place then check your nostrils; at a given time one of the nostrils does intake the air. Smell a pinch of pepper powder via that nostril; sneeze would occur normally. However, do not over-do this.

6. Chronic inability to sneeze may have been caused by an issue in Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT); consult a doctor for necessary medication to facilitate sneezing

7. Frequent or non-stoppable sneeze may have been caused by an issue in ENT or in the functioning of the Brain; consult a doctor for necessary medication for suppression of sneezing

8. Asthmatic persons and those who have allergies must take special care about sneezing.

Cosmics

The following are few of the cosmics related to sneezing; however care must be taken to exclude sneeze occurring due to causes listed under Causes in the above paragraphs:

1. During the divine marriage ceremony between Lord Murugan and Goddess Valli, Hindu Deities in Katatragama, in the south-eastern Ceylon, the moment of exchanging nuptial vows by garlanding each other arrives. All the devotees in the Hindu temple look at the divine couple with bated breath. Then the spook also arrives; the officiating priest sneezes. In the customs of Ceylon sneezing at the time of exchanging nuptial vows is frowned upon and considered as a non-starter. Now that the priest has sneezed the official wedding ceremony is postponed to the following year, so that the devotees can flock to the temple once again. This divine marriage ceremony takes place every year for centuries and had never been consummated

2. When you sneeze once it foretells a negative result; it indicates something going wrong somewhere; your enemy is plotting; your health is not in good shape.

3. When someone else sneezes when you begin to do something the result could be disastrous. When a cat sneezes when you begin to go out, you must postpone the trip; when a man sneezes hold back your steps and breathe in and out for eighteen times before you step out. When a woman sneezes, it heralds protection from the un-known so you can gladly go

4. When you sneeze twice, it means that someone is speaking about you and favourably too

5. When someone else sneezes twice, it means the matter you are thinking about or doing will be completed successfully

6. You or anyone sneezing three times consecutively and stops thereafter heralds good time and joy

7. While travelling or in meeting a person sneezing on your left or behind indicates good omen; likewise a person sneezing on your right or in front indicates a bad omen.

How to Cool down Your Hot Temper?

Friday, December 18th, 2009

Being hot tempered is not necessarily a bad quality in you because you can take several measures to cool down your anger. However if being hot tempered is a quality acquired by birth then you need to put extra efforts to cool off. This blog post explains details of anger and anger management to enable you to adopt suitable measures in improving your life.

Getting Angry

Many writers make a big hullabaloo about people getting angry as if it is the worst thing ever done. This is completely a false argument. Even in mythology, Gods in Greek, Roman and Hindu lore have had enough of temper tantrums. So why is the fuss? It is because the norms of the society demand that everybody suppresses his anger. Aristotle in his writing, however, has mentioned about the concept of “Catharsis” a situation where you let out your feelings so that the resultant situation becomes saner and better. Blowing your fuse at times is as natural as your go for fun and frolic. It can be excused as well. But if you habitually flare up the society shuns you as an angry person; likewise if you start to get physical while in episodes of anger and land few blows on others then you are crossing the red line.

Showing Anger

There are two ways of venting your feelings:

1. Internal Expression of Anger: In this case you keep your anger within your body and mind. This method does help you in the short run but in the long run does lot of harm. You tend to spend endless nights rolling on the bed thinking about the incident. Or you harp on the issue for long time that your elements tune you to be a morose person. By suppressing anger one day you are going to implode within; face a breakdown in heart and other vital organs. Some of you can get into neurosis and complications in connection with the proper functioning of the brain

2. External Expression of Anger: In this case the cathartic effect comes into play. You blast out and that is the end. So you feel relieved unless others are hurt by your rage. There are three ways of showing anger externally:

2.1. You grimace, show a long face or mimic; here you use the face to show your bubble of rage in a muted manner

2.2. You shout, scold or leather out; here you use your voice mainly against family members, business associates, friends and relations or sometimes members of the public

2.3. You use your hands and legs to demonstrate your rage; here it is all physical resulting in damages to your limbs and consequential damages to others as well. This can lead to family disharmony, business related issues and perhaps financial loss

Causes of Anger

Anger can be caused by a single factor or several factors put together. Provocation by others, disappointment, mental hurt, depression, touching the raw nerve by others especially in religion and politics, stress, busy lifestyle are main causes. Women take their anger out on husbands and other family members when their ego is under siege. Moreover, women who do not get sexual satisfaction from their spouses have tend to fly into rage frequently. Brooding behaviour also leads to destructive forms of anger. More than that anger can be caused by characteristics you acquire at the time of birth. This birth related cosmics continue to prevail in you unless mitigatory measures are implemented.

Anger Management

If you blow hot once in a way it does not matter to you or to others. But if you are getting angry habitually you will be branded withHot-Tempered” label which is very difficult to take it off on the one hand and on the other hand leads the society at large to shun you. To avoid this situation you should follow a system called anger management. It consists of two types of therapy: one deals with short term cooling down and the other uses long term cooling off.

A) Short term Cooling Down

Here we go like the cowboys fingers on the trigger:

1. Just look out of the window at the sky or trees or at nature

2. Drink a glass of water

3. Splash cool water on your face and if possible daub your chest area with a freshened moist tissue

4. Have a cool drink made from fruits

5. Lie down on the floor for about 4 to 8 minutes

6. Change your seat, close your eyes and count from 1 to 28; by the time you reach 28 your system gets fresh thoughts and sensation. The number 28 relates to the Lunar Mansions

7. Become a baby and sing a nursery rhyme in soft voice

8. If you are unable to control physical urge get the waste paper basket, sit on the floor, pour the contents on the floor, now begin tearing the papers as if you are shredding these, put everything back, now you are done with your anger. A Swedish ceramic manufacturer had a heap of damaged ceramics, stored in his backyard left to be pounded; he was also aware that most employees in ceramic industry get frequently angry. So he circulated a note: If you are not happy with the management go into the backyard and damn those ceramics. He got the result: the employees gave vent to their feelings and the damaged ceramics were pounded to dust

9. Sprawl on your cushioned chair, bring your hands together on the back of your head and rest your head resolutely, put your feet up on the table, close your eyes, now get into dream world, think about your time as a youth, sauntering on beaches with your girl friends, think of your mother and the love and affection she showered on you. Result: you are fully relaxed.

B) Long term Cooling Off

Here you reflect on the basics and allow your cosmics to work for you:

1. Do a self- assessment; Write why are you getting angry frequently, what can be done, whom you should talk to; go thorough the process of understanding you and your present state and how you wish to make your future by keeping cool

2. Consult a therapist or a neutral person and get his advice

3. Learn to relax

4. Understand your birth cosmics. The following are some of the birth characteristics associated with generally angry persons:

4.1 Birth on Tuesdays and Saturdays store and harness more adrenalin resulting in anger and frustration

4.2 If your predominant element is fire the tendency to lose control and display emotions is high

4.3 When your middle chakra in your body is not in equilibrium you can fly into rage momentarily. The base chakra deals with hunger, the heart chakra deals with impulse and the middle chakra deals with anger. The coordination between these chakras is directed by the middle chakra. When it fails either hunger or impulse or both can make you blow a fuse. You know the proverb: an hungry man is an angry man

4.4 When your birth Moon is in Aries or Leo constellations

4.5 When your birth Moon is either in New Moon or in Full Moon Lunation Cycles

4.6 When your birth Moon is in either of the Lunar Mansions: Al-Sheratain, Al-Debaran, Al-Qalb, and Al-Jabbah

If you have any of these characteristics you have to do lot more in cooling off your hot temper. You are advised to wear light coloured clothes, use cooling gems and crystals such as pearls and moonstones, drink plenty of water and keep your stomach one third with solid foods, one third with liquids and one third empty.

What is Your Right Sun Sign?

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

So you have found your Sun sign by looking at popular newspaper columns and internet pages and adopt it as your own. The dates given for these Sun signs are made arbitrarily and do not relate to the actual transit of the Sun. Find your Right Sun sign by reading this blog post. I explain details of the transit of the Sun so that you can find your Sun sign easily and go on improving your life.

Your Right Sun Sign

Just check the actual transit dates given in the table below and find out Your Right Sun Sign. The table details twelve Zodiacal signs plus Ophiuchus, a Sun sign that was ignored by the ancients but plays a major role today. Hence, there are thirteen such Sun signs now. In Astronomy, these Sun signs are known as “Constellations”. The table below indicates the name of the constellation, date Sun enters into the constellation, date Sun leaves from the constellation and the duration in days the Sun stays in a constellation, as shown by Dr. Lee T. Shapiro, Director Morehead Planetarium, of the University of North Carolina. The accompanying notes explain finer points over the Sun transit:

Transit of the Sun

Constellation Date Enters Date Leaves Duration of stay in days

Aries                April 19            May 13                       25

Taurus             May 14             June 19                      37

Gemini            June 20              July 20                        31

Cancer            July 21               August 9                     20

Leo                  August 10         September 15            37

Virgo               September 16   October 30               45

Libra                October 31       November 22           23

Scorpio            November 23   November 29            7

Ophiuchus      November 30    December 17          18

Sagittarius      December 18    January 18               32

Capricorn        January 19        February 15             28

Aquarius         February 16       March 11                 24

Pisces             March 12            April 18                    38

Notes:

1. The Sun transits into 13 constellations and not twelve as popularly known. In addition, the Sun while in the Pisces constellation breaks new ground by parking into the Cetus constellation on March 27. What happens is that half of the Sun’s disk is in Cetus constellation and half of the Sun’s disk is still in the Pisces constellation a unique process that lasts almost 18 hours on that day

2. Depending on the leap year adjustment the days may fluctuate plus or minus one day for every Sun sign

3 Those who are born on border days have to check the precise position of their Sun sign by looking at the sky map of their time, date and place of birth, or should consult an astronomer to trace the position of the Sun. This is because the Sun unlike the universally accepted day, does not begin its journey on twelve midnight. The time of its entry into a constellation can take place any time during the 24 hour slot

4. Duration of the stay of the Sun in these constellations is uneven. The Sun stays more than 30 days in six constellations: Taurus, Gemini, Leo, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. Whereas The Sun stays less than 30 days in seven constellations: Aries, Cancer, Libra, Scorpio, Ophiuchus, Capricorn and Aquarius

5. The Astronomical name for Scorpio is Scorpius; Capricorn is Capricornus; while the calling names for Ophiuchus vary: snake handler, snake charmer, serpent carrier and its Latin name Serpentius are very common

6. The Sun stays more days in Ophiuchus than in Scorpio

7. Just above 60 per cent of the global population is born under six Sun signs of

Taurus, Gemini, Leo, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces

8. The longest stay of Sun is in Virgo constellation and the shortest stay is in Scorpio constellation.

Ophiuchus

Most of you have read about the twelve Zodiacal Sun signs. Probably you have not learnt much about the Ophiuchus Sun sign. Let me give you few details of the Ophiuchus. This Sun sign comes in between Scorpio somewhat of a negative Sun sign and Sagittarius an extremely positive Sun sign. Hence Ophiuchus combines positive and negative features. If you are born between November 30 and December 17 you come under the Ophiuchus Sun sign. Here is a review of this Sun sign:

Positive Cosmics: Person with becalming and balming effect, most of the time a healer, in every family a “ sugar daddy” ; compassion is your hall mark ; high dexterity and manoeuvrability in handling any situations; an excellent problem-solver and trouble shooter; moderate but satisfactory lifestyle ; ability to forecast and clairvoyance; brings opposing factions together; dull looking person with passion for bright and flashing colours; always an idealist; hates crime and criminals; artistic and expressive tendencies make you famous in publishing , media, fashion and entertainment industry; during Christmas you don the clothes of Santa Claus to distribute gifts; you do well in professions bordering on medicine, therapy and ones that bring happiness and laughter to others

Negative Cosmics: Fall victim to conspiracy and deceit; land in unseen troubles without your knowledge; too passionate in love accompanied with too quick failures in family life; prone to accidents and accidental poisoning; high sensitivity mar your health resulting in breakdowns of heart and vital organs.

What makes Venus Unique?

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

Bright in the sky, planet Venus is similar to our Earth. But many of her features are so unique that Venus has gained importance not only in Astronomy but in your life too. This blog post details facts about Venus in terms of Astronomy, Legend and Cosmics to enable you to understand Venus better and embark upon improving your life and lifestyle.

Astronomy

Venus is a feminine planet and I have used the word she or her appropriately:

1. Similarity to Earth: She is considered as twin sister of Earth due to similarity in terms of size, mass and gravity. The diameter of Venus is 7,521 miles about 86% of that of the Earth; her mass is about 82 % of that of the Earth. Gravity of Venus is equal to 90% of the Earth’s gravity; for example a person weighing 100 pounds on Earth would weigh 90 pounds on Venus

2. Difference between Earth and Venus: Key difference lie in the atmosphere of Venus which is made up of mostly carbon dioxide. It is too hot there with average temperature on the surface ranging about 460 degree Celsius compared to Earth’s hottest temperature at 58 Celsius. Furthermore, the density in the atmosphere of Venus is very high; something like 92 times the air pressure of Earth prevails on Venus. If you land there you would simply be crushed and melted. Yet anther difference is equally appalling. Sulphuric acid in the cloud surrounding Venus together with lack of water on surface or beneath makes the planet inhospitable

3. Proximity to Earth: Venus is the closest planet from the Earth; her mean distance is calculated as 0.28 astronomical Unit or about 26 million miles. In her orbit around the Sun, Venus travels closest to the Earth at 23.7 million miles; when it moves away from the Earth her distance is about 162 million miles

4. Appearance: Venus appears both in mornings and evenings, a scenario that led ancient Greeks to conclude that there are two such planets: Phosphorus for the morning one and Hesperus for the Evening one. However, modern astronomers found that Venus appears at times in the western sky in the evening when Venus is moving towards the Earth and other times Venus appears in the eastern sky in the morning when Venus is moving away from the Earth

5. Conjunction: In her orbit around the Sun Venus can come in between Earth and the Sun which is known as Inferior conjunction where the light of Venus is lost due to the glare of the Sun. When Venus goes to the opposite point, Sun comes in between Venus and Earth which is known as superior conjunction where the Sun completely occults (covers) Venus and shuts her light falling on Earth

6. Brightness: Venus is the brightest planet viewed from Earth after the Sun and the Moon. There are several reasons: one is the proximity and the other in the manner in which Venus rotates. The silvery planet rotates so slowly on her axis that it takes 243 days for a single revolution. Compare this with Earth’s rotation of 24 hours. Now in her orbit around the Sun Venus takes 224 days just about seven and half months to complete the journey. This feature makes Venus remaining almost as a day planet

7. Rotation: The other four planets namely, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn rotate on their axis West to East called counter clockwise, whereas Venus rotates on her axis East to West called clockwise. There is a reason for this phenomenon. Millenniums ago Venus was struck by a huge asteroid. As a result Venus turned upside down. Even today Venus rotates on its axis that tilts about 177 degrees. So Venus is seen as rotating East to West. If she was in her original condition then she would behave like the other four planets

8. Topography: Her surface is covered by caters created by volcanoes and have topography of huge mountains (higher than mountains on Earth) with valleys in between representing bosoms of a lady. Hence the planet is considered feminine.

Legend

1. Venus is named after the Roman Goddess of love and beauty due to silvery light and the appearance of heaving bosom of a lady

2. Venus is the jewel in the sky bright with her carbon dioxide representing blue diamonds

3. Both Holy Scriptures Bible and Quran call Venus as the “morning star”; Venus is one of the stars that guided the three magi to Infant Jesus

4. Hindus called Venus, Shukra personifying the great teacher of Ashura by the name Shukracharya who is said to bestow many boons including Wealth & prosperity, Knowledge & arts, Happiness & enjoyment, Luxury & comfort, Love & marriage, Sex & pleasure, Sensuality & civility and Beauty and brains.

Cosmics

The position of Venus at the time of your birth is very important to understand the nature of your cosmics:

Firstly, you have to find out where Venus was posited at the time of your birth. Theoretically, Venus visits 24 constellations in the sky. In addition to the Twelve Zodiacal Constellations where Venus spends most number of days it also visits Four Non-Zodiacal Constellations: Ophiuchus, Cetus, Orion and Sextant. Moreover, Venus touches eight other constellations one day or less out of 1000 days as calculated by the Astronomical Institute of Utrecht University in Germany. Venus in different constellations means different things for you. Venus in Aries can make you a famed soldier and in Capricornus can make you a renowned professor. Venus in Virgo however can make you a ladies man

Secondly, you have to find out whether Venus was in the sky map of your place of birth at the time of your birth. If so, you have to see whether it was rising, culminating or setting in the sky at the time of your birth. A rising Venus makes you famous; culminating Venus turns you a man who enjoys life; setting Venus however, can cause trouble for your sex and family life

Thirdly, you have to find out whether any phenomenon involving Venus has taken place at the time of your birth. For example, if there is an inferior conjunction your life and fame are overshadowed by events beyond your control; if there is superior conjunction your rise in career and family life finally goes up in smoke due to a transgression on your part.

Perfumes for You

Friday, December 11th, 2009

Everyday is different in terms of cosmics; in some days you are high in spirits; in some days you feel low in spirits; in few others you are on average in spirits. You can use perfumes effectively to harness high spirits and neutralize low spirits. This blog post helps you to do just that. Find the right perfume for each day and get your cosmics to work for you to change your lifestyle and end up improving your life too.

Just Few Notes

1. I am detailing the type of perfumes to be worn or applied on each day beginning from Sunday and ending on Saturday

2. Generally perfumes work well during the day. It is because the Sun is out there and sunlight and sunrays can augment the positive effects of the perfumes and neutralize any negative reactions. Yet another reason is that, the use of perfumes in the night time attracts unwanted attention from Genie on the one hand and criminal elements from human beings on the other. For example, when a young and beautiful girl wears an irresistible perfume during night, it can arouse feelings bordering on criminality in the minds of weak and violent men

3. In cosmic calculation a day begins from Sunrise and ends with Sun down. Each day is owned by a different planet. Hence, each day has different cosmics

4. The perfumes recommended are from generic names. Generally branded perfumery indicates on the carton a specific perfume as one of the basic part known as Notes”. There are three such notes: top, middle and base

a) Top note gives instant burst of the perfume but does not last more than one hour.

b) Middle note, is the central part of the perfumery. In most cases this part is same as the brand name mentioned in the label; this perfume lingers for considerable hours.

c) Base note lasts longer say more than 12 hours but will have fairly low burst of fragrance.

5. It is better for you to buy branded products only if the product uses the perfumes either in middle or base notes

6. You should always insist on natural perfumery rather than artificial ones.

Sunday

Day: Owned by the Sun Hot & Dry Planet. Your spirits are on median level. You generally shift to reverse gear on Sundays. Avoid doing the same tasks you have been doing for the other six days; do something different; spend time out of your usual abode; attempt something out of the way. So use the perfumes that can make you turn diametrically.

Perfumes: Amber, Frankincense, Musk, Myrrh

Monday

Day: Owned by the Moon, Cold & Moist planet. Your spirits are high; you feel elated; you are ready for action; you want result. But you want it on your own way. That is not going to happen. Matters will come head on, one after another. Your patience is tested and you are in conflict with the environment. To resolve these psycho metrics you have to use perfumes that calm you down but make you brace any situation.

Perfumes: Honey suckle, Jasmine, Lemon, Night queen

Tuesday

Day: Owned by Mars, Very Hot & Dry planet. You are high on spirits so is your adrenalin. You can easily be teased into anger. You have high blood pressure or could sway violently in terms of moods. But your capacity to work is not impaired. At this moment you should use perfumes that take out the heat from your system and moist you more.

Perfumes: Neroli, Pitchouli, Rosemary

Wednesday

Day: Owned by Mercury, Moderately Cold & Dry planet. You are “born again adolescent” on a Wednesday. Enthusiasm, energy, and feeling of intense desire grip you. Wednesday can turn out to be busy or light depending on the activities you have scheduled. Yet for all purposes it is a day of moderate spirits. You can up your spirits if you want to by using the perfumes that build from the point you are and take you gradually upward.

Perfumes: Basil, Green champa, Lavender, Lemon grass, Lily

Thursday

Day: Owned by Jupiter, Moderately Warm & Moist planet. Good things always happen on a Thursday. More than that, you get rewards and appreciation too. Every Thursday you are ready for the big action because your spirits are damned high. All round you have pleasantness, easiness, a sense of deja vous; feeling of smoothness inside and a sweet smell of success outside. Your big task is how to keep up the tempo? So use the following perfumery.

Perfumes: Sandalwood, Saffron, Vanilla

Friday

Day: Owned by Venus, Moderately Cold & Moist planet. It is refreshing day as if you have swallowed all the mints in the world. High spirits in three sides: intellectual, sexual and spiritual. You have bonhomie quality through out the day. Awakening of these three energies have to be channelized by using the perfumery that would balance and focus these into a single flow.

Perfumes: Gardenia, Lilac, Rose, Violet

Saturday

Day: Owned by Saturn, Very Cold & Dry Planet. Saturday is a day of see-saw. Mornings are generally low spirited that taper as the day passes. Often you will experience moderate spirits combining internal delight and energy towards late afternoons. This negative cum positive level of enthusiasm has to be balanced on an even keel by using perfumery that drives away negative feelings and restore or sustain positive feelings.

Perfumes: Hyacinth, Peppermint, Pine, Vetiver

Let the Sunlight Come in

Monday, December 7th, 2009

Van Helsing pulls down the curtain and let the sunlight comes in; feet of Dracula are caught in the ring of the sunlight; Dracula crumbles into dust and blown away…………..so runs the final scene of the 1958 horror film “Dracula”. Sunlight can do more than that. In this blog post I am arguing why you should let sunlight come into your life, home and office. I am also elaborating cosmics of sunlight so that you will use it for improving your life and lifestyle.

What is Sunlight?

Sunlight is an electro magnetic radiation coming from the Sun consisting light and heat. Sunlight is filtered through the atmosphere surrounding the earth as well as the clouds in the sky. Though electromagnetic radiation has several aspects; let me deal with the Visible Spectrum and the Ultra Violet Rays of the sunlight in this blog post.

Visible Spectrum

A visible spectrum is what your eyes can see in the sunlight. You can do this by looking at a rainbow or see the sunlight through a prism. You will see several colours continuing in a spectrum. Traditionally, the number of colours was fixed as seven. This is because of cultural and occult reasons. The Hindus ascribed Sun as Lord Vishnu who rode a carriage driven by seven horses implying seven colours and seven days in a week. Sir Isaac Newton on examination of the white sunlight through a prism found six colours: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and Violet. Being an occultism he added one more colour “Indigo” by splitting the Violet colour. In fact indigo colour is formed by the mixture of more blue with less red.

Ultra Violet Rays

The Sun sends down ultra violet (UV) rays. Depending on the wavelength the UV rays are divided into three categories: UVA, UVB and UVC. The wavelength of the individual UV rays is given below:

UVA – 315 to 400 nanometers

UVB – 280 to 315 nanometers

UVC – 100 to 280 nanometers

The last one UVC is more damaging than the rest but is prevented by earth’s ozone layer from penetrating down on the surface of the earth. The human body produces Vitamin D through the intervention of the UVB of the sunlight. UVA is most beneficial with proper mix of radiation with the light

Positive Cosmics of Sunlight

1. Sunlight drives away vampires or simply destroys them. The visible spectrum of six colours Viz: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet transforms into the Star of David with miraculous power. It acts as a shield against evil spirits. Judeo-Christian-Islamic theocracy has accepted the existence of spirits and genies, which may be good or evil. You can check this aspect easily by going into your basement or attic that was never exposed to sunlight and sense the shrill silence and evilness pervading there. Neglected buildings are often haunted by genies of sorts

2. Sunlight brings blessings of the God, or the nature if you are not accepting the existence of God. In Hindu tradition Sun is Lord Vishnu and his concert is Lakshmi who is the Goddess of Fortune. When sunlight comes into your house it brings you glad tidings. In my practice, I have advised clients who suffer from financial mishaps to let sunlight come into their houses and offices, with good result. If you have your main door or windows facing eastern direction, keep these open as sunlight breaks in the dawn. Pharaoh Ramses II usually opens the doors and windows in the morning to allow sunlight in, a fact that made him wealthy and later a formidable opponent to Moses. In your office pull down shutters, binds and curtains to allow sunlight to come in with boons for you. You may continue to use the glass of the windows so as to protect from any ultra violet rays as glass does absorb these rays effectively

3. Sunlight aids in photosynthesis: a process of converting carbon dioxide into organic compounds using the energy from the sunlight, which is necessary for life on earth

4. The human body produces vitamin D from the sunlight; vitamin D plays a pivotal role in maintaining several organs and systems in your body

5. Sunlight avoids you falling into “Winter Depression” a condition where people who are not exposed to sufficient sunlight gets into mental lows during winter

6. Sunlight also avoids “Multiple Sclerosis”, a condition arising at fairly advanced age of life, when the ability of cells in the brain and spinal cord to co-ordinate with each other falters

7. Sunlight gives you the zing and zest and makes you a virile person. Just check your condition after warming with sunlight for few moments

8. Tanning of your skin in correct measure during sunbath gives your skin longevity and wrinkle free appearance throughout your life

9. Dermatological disorders such as eczema can be treated with a combination of medication and measured exposure to the morning sun

10. A ride in a train travelling south to north or vise versa during dawn would give you a pleasant awareness of the sunlight. You will see the Sun in all six colours sequentially as I did on the other day when I travelled in a train. In the eastern horizon sun rose and within few minutes I had the chance of seeing red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet sun, an invigorating and memorable scene chiselled in my life.

Negative Cosmics of Sunlight

On the fillip side, too much of sunlight can cause few problems:

1. Your skin produces Melanin in order to off-set the ill effects of UVA or UVB rays. If you have any melanin deficiency sunlight my cause you harm; your skin ages faster or is full of wrinkles

2. You could possibly get sun burns which can develop into mild or severe inflammation of the part of the skin that is exposed to excessive sunlight

3. During bright sunshine, sunlight can counteract with the workings of certain medication such as antibiotics

4. In some instances sunlight is devilled by doctors as causing skin cancer; however the instances and the exclusivity of sunlight causing such malady need to be evaluated.

As the positive cosmics over weigh negative cosmics of the sunlight the universal advice is: Let the Sunlight Come In.

Good Days for taking Bath, Shower or Swim

Monday, October 26th, 2009

Not all days are same in terms of cosmics; some days are cold some are dry; still others can be moist. Depending on the day of the week a particular element comes into force. Taking a bath, shower or swim must take into account of the peculiarities of each day. This blog post helps you to do just that; it helps you change your life style and cosmics and improving your life too.

Brief

We begin from Sunday and work through the seven days. Each day is divided into two parts: Day & Night. Day begins from the Sunrise and ends with Sun down. Night begins from Sunset and ends on the following morning with the Sunup. The Seven Planets own different day and different night segments. I have followed the system of planet ownership as given by Abdul Rahman Mohammed bin Ahmad Al-Biruni (Al-Biruni), the famous Arab Astronomer.

Sunday

Day: Owned by the Sun Hot & Dry Planet. You should avoid taking bath or shower inside a closed place; no harm if you go for swim in morning hours in “open to the sky” areas such as pool, pond, river or sea. Those who suffer from skin ailments are recommended to be in bath-tub during morning hours.

Cosmics: You have a sense of reversal; computer guys call it “reverse engineering”; cure and cathartic effect; for senior citizens it may result in loss of energy

Night: Owned by Mercury, Moderately Cold & Dry planet. A shower is recommended.

Cosmics: You feel relieved of pain or stress but at the same time you see pulse and heart-beat going up. Typically body temperature is balanced; occasionally it could lead to imbalance.

Monday

Day: Owned by the Moon, Cold & Moist planet. Universally recommended as good day for taking bath, shower or swim; except for those who suffer from asthma or lung-related disorders and those who are born with their Moon in Cancer constellation.

Cosmics: You notice lightness and opalescence within you along with a feeling of elation.

Night: Owned by Jupiter, Moderately Warm & Moist planet. Bath, shower or swim within house or under a roof is recommended.

Cosmics: You get pleasantness in and around you along with soft, smooth and refreshed skin in your body.

Tuesday

Day: Owned by Mars, Very Hot & Dry planet. You should avoid taking bath, shower or swim inside house or outside. Those who are suffering from heat related disorders and those who come under evil spirits should opt for a bath or shower inside house under supervision.

Cosmics: You observe that heat generated inside you goes down initially and picks up afterwards; it can lead to dryness of skin and coarseness in speech. To balance, take fruits or fruit juice with sugar or honey after 30 minutes of bath or shower.

Night: Owned by Venus, Moderately Cold & Moist planet. Taking bath, shower or swim is very helpful to students, white colour workers who use brain rather than brawn. Specially recommended for women who suffer from female sexual dysfunction

Cosmics: You get a balming sense in your nerves and ripening of intellectual, artistic and sexual energy within.

Wednesday

Day: Owned by Mercury, Moderately Cold & Dry planet. It is customary to take bath, shower or swim in many cultures on this day. In Tamil there is a saying that “Even if you give gold you won’t get a Wednesday”. Students and adolescents must take a bath, shower or swim.

Cosmics: Relaxed with enthusiasm to do more of studies or work. An early morning bath or shower is preferred; for swimming it must be after 10.00 a.m.

Night: Owned by Saturn, Very Cold & Dry Planet. Shower or swim is recommended for those who go out in the evening on date or dancing or those who engage in work-out or sports; long distance travellers must take a shower or swim. In the case of women with dry skin suitable cream or lotion must be applied after shower or swim. Those who are suffering from catarrh or severe lung related disorders are recommended to daub wet towel over their body instead of shower or swim

Cosmics: slow burning heat with excessive dryness for people with heaty temperament; intense cold with moderate dryness for people with cold temperament.

Thursday

Day: Owned by Jupiter, Moderately Warm & Moist planet. Bath, shower or swim within house or “open to the sky” areas such as pool, pond, river or sea is generally recommended. Specially recommended for pregnant women, nursing women, convalescing patients or senior citizens. Those who intend to commence any business undertaking should take bath or shower in the early hours.

Cosmics: All round pleasantness, easiness, a sense of deja vous; feeling of smoothness inside and a sweet smell of success outside.

Night: Owned by the Sun Hot & Dry Planet. Take a bath, shower or swim after 9.00 p.m. Generally recommended for party-goers, those who engage in physical work, exercise or sports. Pregnant women, nursing mothers and convalescing patients should avoid wetting their bodies during night.

Cosmics: Feeling of satisfaction for those engage in physical work; for others it could lead to worn-out feeling, emptiness and loss of stamina.

Friday

Day: Owned by Venus, Moderately Cold & Moist planet. Both Hindu and Islamic cultures recommend taking bath or shower on Fridays. It is specifically recommended for women of all ages; for those who are in the spiritual path; and at the mundane level for those who had sexual relations. Celebrities and artists should splash cool and refreshing water over them.

Cosmics: Most refreshing; balming sense pervades in the body and mind; upliftment of intellectual and spiritual power; rise and satiation of Kundalini

Night: Owned by the Moon, Cold & Moist planet. Bath, shower or swim is recommended for those who study for an examination or engaged in the field of arts such as music and dancing. Bath inside a tub is recommended for those men who suffer from sexual deficiency such as erectional dysfunction. Asthmatic patients must avoid getting into water.

Cosmics: Inwardly penetrating; balances the energy of earth and water consequently you get a feeling of confidence and sexual maturity.

Saturday

Day: Owned by Saturn, Very Cold & Dry Planet. Bath, shower or swim is recommended for those who go out or engage in exercise or sports. Truants must be forced to take a shower at-least. Those who get criminal feeling inside their mind can get away from it by taking a swim in morning hours in “open to the sky” areas such as pool, pond, river or sea. Those who are experiencing financial or carer difficulties would derive benefit by taking a bath or shower inside house. Women who have given birth can take bath on alternate Saturdays after applying suitable oil or cream. Those who are suffering from catarrh or severe lung related disorders are recommended to take bath every Saturday.

Cosmics: Cold and dryness that is experienced in the beginning would be moderated towards the end resulting in a slow and steady rise of internal delight along with an energised body. To get the best of cosmics take bath, shower or swim before 11.00 a.m.

Night: Owned by Mars, Very Hot & Dry planet. You should avoid taking bath, shower or swim inside house or outside, unless you are fruit bat.

Cosmics: Leads to dryness of skin and coarseness in speech. Habitual bathers or swimmers of Saturday night get fevers, heat strokes, sharp and hot temperament resulting in imbalance in their systems. If you are compelled to take bath or swim then eat lot of fruits or fruit juice with sugar or honey after 30 minutes of bath or swim.

Antares: Star of the Generals

Monday, October 19th, 2009

Have you seen action in the battle field or engaged in political gerrymandering or in corporate brinkmanship? If yes you are one of the chosen few who have the sight and influence of the huge and bright star Antares. In this blog post, I examine the Star Antares in terms Astronomy and Cosmics and outline recommendations to improve your Life and Lifestyle.

Astronomy

The word Antares means “Like Ares” or “Rival to Ares”; as you know, Ares is the Greek god of war, whom the Romans called as Mars. Antares is located in the Scorpio constellation where it is the brightest star. Beaming in red and orange hue with a greenish tinge the star is the sixteenth brightest in the known sky. It has number of aliases: The Arab astronomers called it “Al-Qalb al-Aqrab” meaning the “heart of the Scorpio” as it is located in the middle of the Scorpio constellation. This led to the Latin name “Cor Scorpii” meaning the same. It is also known as “ Vespertilio” meaning “Bat” as it hovers in the ecliptical path like a bird.

Due to its metallic red colour, its location in the ecliptical path and its shining brightness, Antares is often confused for or compared with the Planet Mars. Antares is frequently occulted by the Moon; other Planets also sight the star as and when they sojourn in the Scorpio constellation. Mars conjuncts Antares once in two years.

This red super-giant astronomically known as “Alpha Scorpii” varies in brightness between 0.9 to 1.1 magnitude. It is a binary with a companion star much smaller than itself. Astronomers describe Antares as a semi-regular pulsating binary. It is classified as a red colour intermediate super giant luminous at times and less luminous at some other times which is written in astronomical short-hand as “M 1.5 Iab-Ib”. The companion star is blue-white and a main sequence star, which is written in astronomical short-hand as “B2.5 V”. Due to its pulsating nature and varying degree of brightness and due to the blue-white colour of its companion star mixing with its own metallic redness, Antares whimsically radiates in an unusual orange hue with a greenish tinge.

In addition to the companion, Antares has two aide-de camps as they say in the Military. It is flanked by two great stars: Sigma Scorpii in the north-west on the upper segment and Tau Scorpii in the south-east on the lower segment; both the stars are called by the Arab Astronomers as “Al-Niyat” , which means “The Arteries”. They had a logical reason to do so: since Antares is the heart of the Scorpio both Sigma and Tau Scorpii the two stars flanking the heart , should better be named as arteries. Antares the General, cannot be left with is the aid-de-camps only. A litany of soldiers has to stand guard the commander. So we have one of the brilliant star cluster M4 (Messier Object 4) Globular Cluster with about 50 stars within located half-way between Antares and Sigma Scorpii. I am giving you an excellent astro-photo of this scenario:

Antares

The orange-red glowing super-giant Antares is at the bottom left; M4 globular cluster of stars is at the bottom right . The bright white-blue star Sigma Scorpii is on the top right of the picture.

Antares is located in Right Ascension (Celestial Longitude) 16 hour 29 minutes and 24 seconds and Declination (Celestial Latitude) 26 degree 25 minutes and 55 seconds south. Much cooler than the Sun it has surface temperature of 3,400 Kelvin. It is about 604 light years away and about 15 times the size of the Sun. It has 500,000 million miles diameter something like 800 times the Sun. To cap it all, Antares is 60,000 times luminous than the Sun. Antares is moving away from earth at a speed of 2 miles per second. Large and powerful stellar winds blow within Antares making huge red flairs and great sound of lashing. Sadly, Antares has finished its helium stock and is now losing its own mass; one day it will end its life as a great red star by transforming itself as a brilliant supernova.

Cosmics

Historically, Antares together with three other stars namely, Regulus, Fomalhaut and Aldebaran were considered as the Royal Stars of Persia about 3000 B.C. They were venerated as the four guardians of heaven: Regulus in north, Antares in west, Fomalhaut in South and Aldebaran in East. The Persian names went as Venant, Satevis, Hastorang and Tascheter respectively. These four stars not only acted as guardians but also marked the season as well. These were located approximately in 6 hours interval in the space roughly about 3 months marking the equinoxes and the solstices. The star also personifies the Arab warrior Anter who lived in the days before the Holy Prophet. This warrior was once a slave; when he was called upon to take part in battle he did so proving his valour resulting him being manumitted; he was also allowed to marry his sweetheart a lady of noble personage. In the Euphratean culture Antares is the Lord of the Steed. The star marks the Eighteenth Arabic Lunar Mansion (Manzil) “Al- Qalb” (The Heart ) which is generally considered as fortunate.

The following are Cosmics Highlights of the star Antares

1. It is just opposite of the Star Aldebaran located in the east, when Antares sets

Aldebaran rises and vice versa. Antares represented the Autumn Equinox in early times; today Antares can be seen at its highest point on June 22 every year

2. Antares has opposite directions. It is the star of bravery and at the same time of foolish and rash behaviour. Antares personifies a great general who can be deceived by a puny soldier; great military honour leading the person to bask in the glory and wither away later

3. Whoever born under the star would move towards west from their birth place

4. Antares grants you several positive cosmics: Courage & Determination; working against many odds to achieve your goals; amassing wealth from spoils of war or victory in ventures such as corporate raiding; fortune, eminence and action orientation; fight for social causes like liberty, equality and fraternity in the style of French revolutionaries; lot of energy flowing from the Base Chakra (Nafs in Arabic); the energy flows of Fire, Spirit, Air, Water and Earth would be finely balanced at the beginning but would go haywire as you grow older; magnanimity trimmed with selfishness is your hallmark

5. Negative cosmics abound: rash behaviour; insubordination; rebelling against the establishment; sowing discord amongst the rank and file especially in the army corps; arrogance & over-confidence; slip of the tongue and not fault of the brain; often betrayed by own confidante’s ; wisdom taking back-seat ; success savoured in ventures dissipates if level head does not prevail

6. The Arabic Lunar Manzil Al-Qalb makes you a high-spirited person with huge fire energy along with the sound of fury; you will rise like a meteor unless heavens forbid you will fall like Napoleon Bonaparte. This Manzil is favourable for those who engage in war or fight for a worthy cause; on the fillip side this Manzil encourages rebellion, sedition and insubordination.

Lifestyle

The following are few of the recommendations for improving your life:

1. If Antares is your birth star, join the army or get into army related business activity. Often wear strong shade colours but not black; drink lot of water and eat red meat. Never get drunk; but lot of sex

2. If Antares is your Lucky star sighted by Mars follow the above recommendation with some modifications to suit your temperament and chemistry

3. If Antares is your rising star get into politics straightaway

4. If Antares is your culminating star it is better for you to get a job in the Government service where your function is to regulate people, commerce & industry

5. Women born under the star are susceptible to pregnancy related problems

6. Recommended gems include: Carnelian, Amethyst and Onyx.

Megrez: Star that gives you a Silver Spoon

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Are you born with a silver spoon in your mouth? You are if you satisfy one of the three conditions the English idiom sets for a person born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Either you are born into wealth and privilege or have good fortune that you did not earn but inherited from your family or simply you have every good thing happening around you with least efforts on your part. In all these cases there is the influence of the great star Megrez up on you. In this blog post, I examine the Star Megrez in terms of Astronomy, Asterism, Constellation and Cosmics and outline recommendations to improve your lifestyle.

Astronomy

Megrez is a bright hot star beaming with bluish-white colour in the northern sky. The word Megrez comes from Arabic “Al-Meghrez Al Dhaneb Al- Dubb Al- Akbar” meaning “the base of the tail of the Great Bear”. Al-Meghrez also means Buttocks. It is located in the constellation known as Ursa Major or in simple language “Great Bear”. Megrez is a part of seven star combinations known as Big Dipper Asterism. The other stars are Dubhe, Merak, Phekda, Alioth, Mizar and Alkaid all in the Great Bear. Beautiful star Megrez is the faintest amongst the seven stars. Its strategic position in the Asterism and the fact that to the north of the star there lies a starless sky except for the Messier 40, a Deep Sky Object of unusual and curious nature has made Megrez a legend in the sky.

Megrez is astronomically referred to as “ Delta Ursa Major“. It is classified as A3 V indicating it is blue-white dwarf with a variable brightness. It is a star of fourth magnitude in brightness with 3.3 visual magnitude. Megrez though ranked fourth as Delta in Greek alphabet, is the last in terms of brightness amongst the seven stars in the Big Dipper asterism. It is located in Right Ascension (Celestial Longitude) 12 hour 15 minutes and 25 seconds and Declination (Celestial Latitude) 57 degree 01 minutes and 57 seconds. A hydrogen fusing star, Megrez has surface temperature of 8,600 Kelvin; though the radiation is lesser than the Sun its higher internal compression makes Megrez 20 times luminous than the Sun. It is about 81 light years away and about 2.5 times the size of the Sun. It is fairly a northern star and is moving away from earth at a speed of 8.4 miles per second. Megrez has two companion stars: Delta Ursa Major B an 11 th magnitude star and Delta Ursa Major C a 10 th magnitude star both are located about three arc-minutes away from Megrez. The companions are too faintest to be seen without the aid of a telescope. Moreover, Megrez shares equidistance from the North Pole with the star Caff ((Beta Cassiopeia) which has led Megrez to be called as “ Kaffa “ by some writers erroneously.

I am reproducing a drawing made by Abu’l-Husayn Abdu’r-Rahman as-Sufi (Azophe), 10 th Century Persian Astronomer in his book

"Suwarul-Kawakib", (Uranometry) of the Great Bear below:

I have rotated the drawing to align it to the north. To trace the stars in English language, I give below a star map:

Star Map : Ursa Major

ursa-major-lrg new

Credit: http://www.greatdreams.com/constellations/ursa-major-lrg.jpg

You can observe the following: the strategic position of the star Megrez in the middle of the spoon linking the handle to the bowl; the star-less region above the star Megrez; the double star optical illusion north of Megrez lying between Alioth and Megrez known as Deep Sky Object Messier 40. In the above sky map M 40 is not typed.

Asterism

Megrez is a part of the Big Dipper Asterism, the most famous out of all asterisms. Big Dipper is also known as Wagon in USA and Plough in UK. The appropriate word is ladle because all the seven stars in the asterism form a ladle. This asterism is noted in astronomy because the seven stars in the asterism are related to each other in terms of speed , motion and the direction towards these are moving away from earth. This remarkable fact is known as “Ursa Major moving Group”. In Hindu mythology the asterism is called Saptha Rishi (Seven Stages), who incant the name of Vishnu in unison.

Constellation

Megrez belongs to the constellation Ursa Major. In Greek mythology, the legend of Ursa Major the Great Bear goes like thus: Callisto daughter of King Lycaon, king of Arcadia, became a companion of Artemis (Diana) Goddess of Hunting, after taking a vow to remain as chaste nymph. Zeus known for ravishing virgins had his sight on Callisto and eventually seduced her. Callisto became pregnant; on finding this Artemis became wild and chased Callisto away from her group. Later Callisto gave birth to a son who is called as Arcas. Enraged that Callisto gave birth to a child, Artemis turned Callisto into a bear to be hunted by her. Zeus thought otherwise and sent Callisto the bear to the heaven in the northern sky. Forever, the mother bear lurks in this region bestowing blessings to those who love her, albeit evading her hunters.

Cosmics

On the positive side Megrez is a star of great fortune. The star gives you the silver spoon from the time you are born till your end, put it in other words milk and honey for you in your entire life span. Megrez provides you with wealth, happiness, success and quiet type of life. It makes you a prudent and cautious person, sometimes hesitating initially or postponing matters, but later taking full responsibility and completing the task in hand. If you are under the influence of Megrez you are basically diminutive in nature, with a medium height but with an over-developed buttock. You generally shy away from public cynosure; you are not the kind of party types with lots of friends; you will have chosen friends, colleagues and relations upon whom you spend lavishly. You will always enjoy higher life style than your parents. You are not a great talker, but a quiet doer and a smart worker. You have equanimity in belief, attitude, composure and behaviour.

Equally important are the negative comics: In most cases you prefer being silent than to say a firm No. This could be misinterpreted by people around you. Their subsequent actions might embarrass you and you will regret why you have not spoken with a firm voice initially. You will continue to face the same situation over and over again. Though you are quiet in outward appearance internally your mind works in stereographic manner. Consequently, anyone who brushes you will get slithered by the bear’s claws that you possess.

Improving Your Life

The following are few recommendations to improve your life:

1. You should select blue, white and light colours for your dress; always opt for two – piece dress

2. Numbers 2 and 7 do wonders for you

3. You must sleep, keeping your head towards the North

4. You must select business management course for your studies

5. You should select your spouse with lower living standards than  yours

6. Any business that borders on buying and selling especially across the oceans will take you to the top.

7. You should use the alphabet “Z” in your name or sound similar to it; for example if your name is Cynthia you pronounce it as “Zynthia”

8. On your study or work table keep a model of steering wheel of a ship

9 During leisure, watch action or sport films where there is car race, car-chase, horse-race or Ice-skating etc.; Watch films with children (they know better) space cartoons where the movement is fast and thrilling

10. The effect of the star Megrez is not much pronounced in cases of persons who are born in locations above 33 degree north in latitude or below 33 degree south in latitude.
