Full Moon April 2010 alerts you the dangers ahead as you could be pushed into a corner by overtaking events. In this blog post let me explain the details of the Full Moon in terms of astronomy and cosmics and offer you few tips to avoid snarls and in improving your life.

Astronomy

1. Full Moon: The Full Moon appears at 12.19 UTC/GMT on Wednesday, 28 April 2010. You have to trace your local time in reference to this time.

2. Location: At this time the Moon is located at:

Right Ascension (Celestial Longitude) 14 hour 20 minutes 44 seconds

Declination (Celestial Latitude) South 18 degree 39 minutes 35 seconds

3. Constellation: Libra Virgo border

4. Illumination: 99.93 per centum

5. Perigee: This is the point where the Moon is closest to the Earth in its revolution. The Moon reached the Perigee point on April 24, at 21.00 UTC/GMT when its distance from the Earth was around 228,131 miles. At the time of Full Moon, the Moon has moved away from the perigee point and placed at the distance about 230, 830 miles away from the earth; consequently the pulling power of the moon has receded somewhat

6. Surrounding Planet: Saturn located too far on the North- West in Virgo constellation

7. Lunar Mansions: At the time of Full Moon, it has almost arrived at the Fifteenth Lunar Mansion (Arabic: Al-Manzil Al-Qamar) of “Al-Ghafr”, which means “the Cover”. This is one of the 28 lunar mansions and said to be inauspicious

8. Star: At this time the Moon is in direct line of sight with the star Zubenalgenubi located precisely on the middle of the southern or left tray on the scale of Libra. The name of this star is derived from “Al-Zuban Al- Janubiyyah” which means “ the Southern Claw”. Its alias “ Kiffa Australis” which was taken from Arabic “ Al- Kiffah Al-Janubiyyah” meaning “ the Southern Tray” is most appropriate to this star on the basis of its location. Nonetheless the former name stuck. It is the second brightest star in the Libra constellation even though astronomer Bayer classified it as an alpha star. Astronomically called as “Alpha 2 Librae”, this star is a visual binary with another star called as “Alpha 1 Librae” as its companion. In any case these two stars are far apart and do not resemble with each other. The star Zubenalgenubi is a bright white sub giant with a spectral class of “A3IV”. Zubenalgenubi showers white to yellow light along with brightness on the scale of 2.75 magnitude. Located some 77 light years away it is fairly hot star with a surface heat of 8,500 Kelvin.

Cosmics

The combined effect of the Full Moon in the circumstances described above gives both positive and negative cosmic results:

Positive Cosmics: More emphasis is paced on “take care” mode and “wait and see” attitude; less importance is placed on “go forward” lifestyle. Preservation of existing profit and cash-flow during this phase is the key ingredient for success in your business ventures and in managing family affairs. You have to expect something unusual springing onto your face. Clear understanding of issues and problems could prevail. Standards and ethics play a major part in your life. Overall your health improves

Negative Cosmics: Cold and dry ambience outside could make you work harder; results are not encouraging though. Inter relationship with opposite sex could become weaker, sometimes leading to incriminating evidence. More or less fairly bad time in everything you do as downswings are seen in many of the fields. Never the less exploration to space and inventing new gadgets and gismos could fare better.

Improving Your Life

The effect of the full Moon lasts generally for a fortnight till the next New Moon; I am giving few tips for improving your life till then:

1. Show the amber colour to everyone and everything; that is “wait and see till the traffic light turns green” must be your lifestyle during this fortnight.

2. Take care in dealing with the members of the opposite sex lest you get into embarrassment; you have to take care that you do not leave any incriminating evidence resulting from any misdemeanour

3. Even though you are not going to lose temper and flare up take care of your tongue so that you do not slip somewhere that could cause immeasurable damages to you later on

4. For those in politics: time to put an hold on explosive issues and to build a kind of Chinese wall between you and the several interest and pressure groups around you who prod you to make hasty decisions; for those in higher administration in public and private sectors: time to apply standards and norms and keep your decisions legal and binding on others

5. Fairly good time for marketing and operations in line management and bad time for administration and logistics; avoid much of travel out to long distances

6. Women could lead the way in many areas such as business, administration, family and gender issues. They could take frontal seats in equality of treatment or rising against social and administrative injustice

7. Very bad time for romance or getting married

8. Success is shown for those engaged in trading in infrastructure, hardware and solid items and personality improving sphere

9. Any new partnership must be put on the back burner; another nugget: neither borrower nor lender be

10. Either you choose white or rainbow colours in your attire and dress modestly. Consume more honey and kosher wine to keep your spirits up and running

11. If you have little leisure go to places that are above sea-level such as top of mountains or rocks and relax; a special advice to persons who are chronically ill: go and stay close to trees with large barks; if you feel okay embrace these barks as your loved ones and relax

12. As regards to Gems & Crystals, any white gems are good for this season: Diamond tops the list followed by Sapphire, Opal, Topaz, Goshenite (White Beryl) Rock Crystal (Quartz). For ladies I recommend Moonstone (White tone) and Pearls (silver in body colour at AA Lustre) as most apt.

When Sun rises in the east it heralds the beginning of the day; there are several names given to this phenomenon: Daybreak, Dawn, Sunrise, Sunup and in colloquial term First Light. In several cultures it is known as the “cock crow time”. Though the time given for sunrise in many almanacs refer to the actual sight of the sun rise as seen in the horizon, the dawn, in fact has already happened.

The Rooster perhaps senses this accurate time of dawn and crows much earlier than the red rays of sunlight bathe in the east. Typically, there are three types of dawns: Astronomical, Nautical and Civil. Let me explain in this blog post, the three types of dawn and the astronomy and cosmics related to these. I also take liberty to suggest few activities that go with each type of dawn so that you can implement and see results in terms of improving your life.

Astronomical Dawn

Astronomy

This dawn takes place 72 minutes before the sunrise time at your locality. Let us assume your sun rise time is 6.12 a.m. By deducting 72 minutes you will clock at 5.00 a.m. This time is known as “Astronomical Dawn”. This dawn lasts from 5.00 a.m. till 5.24 a.m. During this 24 minutes time slot you witness what we call as “Astronomical Twilight” where you cannot see things on earth clearly but would be able to see most of the stars in the sky easily. The streaks of sun light from the upper atmosphere lit up the sky and slowly fall on the earth

Cosmics

This is the time your Rooster starts to serenade, urging you to begin your day at dawn. When cock begins to crow it is not only a wake up call but a reminder that the time is too auspicious for you to miss. At this time the angels descend up on the earth bringing glad tidings to everyone. Their arrival is greeted with the chirp of birds and the twinkle of the distant stars. You feel calm and serenity around you and the whiffing of the fresh air. Your mind is in peace and your heart beats slowly

Activities

Arise from your bed, stack the bedding and pillows, wish yourself a good day, stretch your hands, legs and other muscles, say little prayer or hum some music, thereafter make a bee line to the bathroom. Brush your teeth, gargle out, wash your hand and face, sit comfortably on a chair and gulp 4 glasses of water. Thereafter engage in mild work, meditation or just think about your routine for the day. Depending on the type of lifestyle, your level of activities could range between moderate to busy

Nautical Dawn

Astronomy

This dawn takes place 48 minutes before the sunrise time at your locality. Let us assume your sun rise time is 6.12 a.m. By deducting 48 minutes you will clock at 5.24 a.m. This time is known as “Nautical Dawn”. This dawn lasts from 5.24 a.m. till 5.48 a.m. During this 24 minutes time slot you observe what we call as “Nautical Twilight” where you cannot see things on earth clearly or see the dim stars on the sky but would be able to see most of the stars if you are on the sea in a ship or boat. The streak of light from the upper atmosphere lit up the sky and covers the entire sea and major part on the earth

Cosmics

In addition to the bird chirp you find cats mew and dogs bark and most domesticated animals swing into action. Out there vehicular traffic starts as people are getting about in their daily lives. Your family is up; wife is already in the kitchen, children are getting ready for their day in the schools. As you become more active your pulse goes up so is your heart beat. Your mind is working faster and you have lot to do. The scent of the flowers in your backyard pervades in the air and you get a sense of elation going up in your spine

Activities

If you are an outgoing and workaholic personality you start your business life by shuffling the papers and files in your brief case or if you have not brought these into your home on the previous evening you just allow your mind to wade through the basics and priorities of the office. If you are a health and fitness buff you do your callisthenics. If you believe in inner strength you shall continue meditation. If you are sick you need to take your medicine and few breathing exercises as well. Whatever you do you must bring your body and mind together. Focus on the work at hand and then work for the results

Civil Dawn

Astronomy

This dawn takes place 24 minutes before the sunrise time at your locality. Let us assume your sun rise time is 6.12 a.m. By deducting 24 minutes you will clock at 5.48 a.m. This time is known as “Civil Dawn”. This dawn lasts from 5.48 a.m. till sunrise at 6.12 a.m. During this 24 minutes time slot you observe what we call as “Civil Twilight” where you can see things on earth somewhat clearly and bright stars and planets. This is the best time to view both Venus and Mercury provided these planets are just in the horizon. You can also see bright stars such as Sirius. The streak of light from the upper atmosphere lit up the earth fairly well. As you progress towards sunrise you can see the objects in their perspective along with the colour perception

Cosmics

The animal and plant kingdom is brimming with activities: you see the humming bird; you hear the drone of bees and hornets as they whistle past. The world awaits the day break; crimson red rays of the sun quietly fall on the leaves and fruits over the trees and wade through the waterways. Sirens of vehicles are heard and the tempo of activity in your vicinity continues to rise faster. The breakfast is being made and your family is up and running. You sense the warmth of the Sun and feel that the pulse and heartbeats move to higher bands. You are in best fit with an alert mind and equally toned-up physique and look forward to the busy time ahead in your office or business. There is a sense of belonging coupled with the warmth of the day break; that too happens amidst the clearing of the morning dew. The dahlia you planted few weeks ago is budding and the nearby roses begin to dance in twilight. For you it marks sweet scent of success

Activities

Have your morning coffee or tea as the case may be but definitely not a swig of liquor. If necessary use the bathroom again. After a cursory glance at the morning newspapers you say to yourself loud “I am ready”. Go about your routines and welcome the day!

Entry of the Sun into Aries constellation marks a new beginning. It is because when it enters into Aries it completes the annual ecliptical journey across the constellations and come to the point where it originally started. This year the Sun enters into Aries on April 19, heralding good times for all of you. Let me explain in this blog post astronomy and cosmics surrounding this event. As usual, I give you few tips for improving your life.

Astronomy

Long time ago when the Vernal Equinox was in the Aries constellation the Sun used to enter it on March 20. However, due to precession of the Earth the Vernal Equinox point has now shifted to the Pisces constellation. When the Sun enters into Aries constellation on April 19 this year, he has company of both Venus and Mercury who are already there. The Sun is expected to stay in Aries for 25 days till May 13. Aries is one of the seven constellations where the Sun spends less than 30 days. Other six constellations are: Cancer, Libra, Scorpio, Ophiuchus, Capricorn and Aquarius. Out of these, Ophiuchus is a non-zodiacal constellation.

Cosmics

The entry point for the Sun into Aries is located at the hove of the stretched left foot of the Ram. Having entered Aries, the Sun moves in a fashion cutting through the lower belly of the Ram. In doing so the Sun passes minor stars such as Omicron Arietis, Pi Arietis, Sigma Arietis and Rho Arietis. The only significant star that the Sun passes in proximity is Botein (Delta Arietis).

The entry of the Sun into Aries is welcomed from the time immemorial. This event was celebrated by different cultures as New Year, Spring Festival etc. Originally Sun’s entry into Aries coincided with the Vernal Equinox giving rise to celebrations such as Nowruz. While most of the western world adopted the tropical New Year on March 20, Hindus adopted the sidereal New Year on Mid-April. However, the actual entry of the Sun into Aries was slowly forgotten. I am rekindling interest on the actual event to bring a degree of awareness about the movement of the Sun in terms of astronomy.

The Sun generates both positive and negative cosmics during its stay in Aries constellation:

Positive Cosmics

Ability to face up challenges; willingness to take responsibility; rising to the occasion, give leadership and make others follow you; always take it to the next level; drive, dedication reinforced by physical strength; unswerving leadership; springing for action at any given time; quality of accepting defeat and try again; sportsmanship; helping others in their need are some of the highlights in positive side

Negative Cosmics

Rashness bordering on arrogance; desperado type action against all odds ending in failure and decimation ; insensitivity to the feelings of others; high degree of action orientation sans thoughts and rationality; impulsive nature; first to draw the gun life-style; stubbornness resulting in ignoring dangers or weaknesses are key negatives

Improving Your Life

The following are few hints to optimize your cosmics:

1. Always put your right foot forward, that is, think right, speak right and act right

2. Control your angst and anxiety; tongue and temper; guts and feelings. This is the time for you to go for the meat, but at the same time do it thoughtfully. This applies in your home with family and at your office with business partners and colleagues. You must also take care that peer pressure does not make you lose balance in dealing with subordinates

3. Best time to implement your plan. You observe within your system a sense of going ahead and getting things done during the period. Translate this feeling into action

4. Expand your lifestyle into ruthless work regime with equally fastidious fun and frolic; in other words bring the energy to flow into your vein and go on energizing others to do at your bidding. You must not forget to reward others for doing their part

5. Adopt a win-win approach in your business and family; ensure that you look at some of the things you have not done for the family, say, paying the arrears of the college fees of your son; in your business life, close the deal in selling some of the items that were slow moving during last few months and be prepared to cut loss so that you can free your cash flow.

6. Those of you who need a wee bit of push and personality must choose uplifting your dress style, and colour choice; improve your style of working with others, for example take your admin for a lunch which was long over-due anyway. Few of the gems & crystals that can flip your turn around in your psyche and physics include Red Coral, Bloodstone, Pyrope (Red Garnet), Red Jasper and Rubellite (Red Tourmaline).

New Moon in April 2010 brings a mixed bag of good and bad results; if the business does well family plummets and vice versa. All depend on how you balance both side of the coin. In this blog post let me explain the details of the New Moon in terms of astronomy and cosmics and give you few hints for improving your life.

April New Moon

The New Moon appears at 12.29 (GMT/UTC) on Wednesday 14 April 2010. You have to trace your local time in reference to this.

Astronomy

At this time the Sun and the Moon are more than ten arc minutes apart and any chance of a conjunction is averted. The location of the Sun and the Moon is given below:

The Sun

Right Ascension (Celestial Longitude) 1 hour 30 minutes 35 seconds

Declination (Celestial Latitude) North 9 degree 28 minutes 40 seconds

The Moon

Right Ascension (Celestial Longitude) 1 hour 19 minutes 16 seconds

Declination (Celestial Latitude) North 13 degree 57minutes 33 seconds

The Moon on April 9 is at apogee (farther from the Earth) at about 251,655 miles away. However, by the time it reaches the New Moon stage it has reduced the distance to about 244,657 miles away from the Earth. Illuminated less than 1 percent, the Moon cannot be seen by us. Glare of the Sun apart, the Moon’s illumination is too insignificant for it to be recognized.

Location of the Moon

At the time of the New Moon stage, the Sun and the Moon are in the Pisces constellation while Venus and Mercury are located father east in the Aries constellation. The Moon is seen sitting askance to an imaginary line drawn from east to west comprising the M 74 Spiral Gallery to the east the Star Alpherg (Eta Piscium) in the middle and the Moon on the west. It sights a brilliant star 72 Piscium located towards north-west from the Moon.

Pisces Constellation

The Pisces constellation is drawn like a pair of two fishes. The Western fish is horizontal and the Northern fish is vertical in shape. A string connects both fish. Mythologically the Pisces is connected to Euphrates River. In Greco Roman tradition, Aphrodite (Venus) who is Goddess of Beauty and Eros (Cupid) who is God of Love turned themselves into a pair of fish to escape from the atrocious Typhon who is pursuing them and swam unto the depths of water. In order to stay united they tied their tails together with a string. The Babylonians considered the fish as the Goddess Atagartis emerging out of a giant egg from the depths of Euphrates. Turkic, Persian and Assyrian mythology have alluded to the Pisces constellation in similar vein. Pisces is significant today because the Vernal Equinox point lies within it.

Star 72 Piscium

A luminous white to yellow giant, the star 72 Piscium is located 178 light years away from the Earth. Visual magnitude of this star is estimated at 5.64. The star 72 Piscium is classified under the spectral type of F4 II-III. This star is one of the minor stars in the Pisces constellation; its location to the right of the tail of the northern fish is very auspicious though.

Lunar Mansions

The New Moon arises in the twenty-eighth Lunar Mansion (Arabic Al-Manzil al- Qamar) of “Al-Batn Al-Hut” (The Belly of the fish). This lunar mansion is the last of the 28 lunar mansions and deemed to shower mixed results. The lunar mansion teaches you to be balanced in attitude and approach. You like a pendulum would swing between: family and business; risk taking and risk aversion; danger and safety; poor in cash-flow or plenty of money coming and so on.

Cosmics

Both the Sun and the Moon traversing through Pisces constellation help bringing you to the much needed equilibrium. In theory, the cosmics of the Sun as a hot and dry planet and the cosmics of the Moon as a cold and moist planet should lead you to safeguard your balanced approach in anything you do. It is all the more important that the Moon herself is posited in the lunar mansion of the belly of the fish cajoling you to be fair and balanced in your dealings. For students and senior citizens above the age of 60 years it is good time for relaxation as well as concentration. Those who suffer from chronic or severe illness could expect much relief and those who brag of their physical fitness could see their expectations dashed.

Improving Your Life

The following hints are sketched for you to go on improving your life under the circumstances:

1. Learn rope walking; this you do it figuratively, that is always keep your balance till the next full moon lest you fall into dangerous alleys

2. Marital happiness and family unity are major strengths you have in this season; if everybody keeps cool the family ship floats well

3. Do you have travel-crazy lifestyle? If yeas this is your hoped for season; go around your environs and see what is happening there. Both domestic and foreign travels are strongly recommended

4. Mixed bag of results could give you either delight or disappointment; whatever the result may, take in your good stride, hope for the best and put your shoulders to the wheel in steering the course of your business/career and family to successful ends

5. Hot and dry moist ambience prevails outside and you have to keep yourself cold and dry inside

6. New ventures or start-ops should not be initiated during this phase; may be you should postpone it for few weeks. Nevertheless, business in farming, trade and light industry could do better

7. Excellent time for sex and marriage

8. The colour spectrum works on graduated scales without any interruption. It ranges from red, orange, yellow, green and blue and in that order as you see in the prism of the sunlight. You can use any of these colours in your dresses. Get any of these colours into your system in the form of fruits and vegetables

9. The effect of the New Moon lasts for a fortnight in general; for the first week it is intense but peters off as it reaches the Full Moon stage some 14.8 days after the New Moon

10. Good time for educational pursuits and seeking medical assistance; bad time for entrusting money or responsibility to your servants or subordinates

11. As regards to Gems & Crystals, the range is wide; you can use any of these with hope and glee:

Red: Coral, Garnet, Jasper

Orange: Chalcedony, Hessonite, Sunstone

Yellow: Amber, Citrine, Yellow Topaz

Green: Emerald, Jadeite, Peridot

It appears and then disappears is what you hear when talking about the planet Mercury. Though a bright planet in the sky, its brightness is lost in the glare of the Sun. Even then the planet has a big role to play in your life. This blog post details facts about Mercury in terms of Astronomy, Legend and Cosmics to enable you to understand Mercury better.

Astronomy

Important astronomy facts of Mercury are given below:

1. Mercury is not a planet that you can view easily; it is there and the next moment it has gone; appears and then disappears the planet got several rubrics such as “elusive planet” “unpredictable planet” and “quicksilver”. There are several reasons for this phenomenon:

# Mercury is too small with a diameter of just 3.032 miles at the centre, something like two fifth of the diameter of the Earth; besides it is somewhat similar to our Moon in size but orbiting much closer to the Sun

# It is in fact the closest planet to the Sun in the planetary kingdom; on average its distance from the Sun is about 36 million miles; at the furthest point in orbit Mercury is around 43.3 million miles away from the Sun whereas at the closest point to the Sun the distance is around 28.6 million miles

# Mercury either rises just before the sunrise low in the east or just after the sunset low in the west

2. Mercury takes about 88 earth days to orbit around the Sun; in doing so it rotates on its axis once in 58.6 days

3. Mercury is the swiftest in the planetary kingdom moving with a speed of 30 miles per second

4. Mercury is too hot, hotter than Venus; in its close proximity to the Sun its temperature hovers around 450 degrees in centigrade while in furthest distance from the Sun its temperature clicks around minus 170 degrees of centigrade. At its height Mercury’s temperature can melt lead while at the lowest temperature it can freeze you

5. It is too hot and dry on the surface of Mercury; there is no oxygen and no atmosphere; however there is water on its north protected from the deep penetrating sunrays, a wonder indeed. Water without oxygen is useless as plants cannot grow

6. Like our Moon, the orbital path of Mercury is oval shape called as elliptical

7. Mercury is the densest planet after the Earth; a person weighing 100 pounds on Earth would weigh at 38 pounds, provided he can get there

8. Mercury is made of 70 % iron in its core which is partially molten and 30 % silicate

9. Like our Moon, there are caters on the surface of the Mercury, which is otherwise rocky

10. If not for the fact its brightness is lost in the glare of the Sun, Mercury is definitely a bright planet when viewed during morning or evening twilight

Legend

1. Mercury has two names; the ancient Greeks thought there are two such planets because Mercury was seen in east and west on different occasions. The morning planet was called “Apollo” whereas the evening planet was called “Hermes”

2. Mercury is said to contain both feminine and masculine qualities; many cultures thought Mercury as a child known for his truancy. So much so, in the Roman traditions Mercury is God of commerce, trade and playful thievery

3. Mercury is deemed a messenger of the Gods, going on its errands, carrying news; it carried along with it a lighted caduceus (a staff with two snakes entwined around it and two wings at the top) to guide souls to the under world

4. In many cultures Mercury is said to represent, intelligence, intuition, inventions, travel, leisure, truancy, carefree behaviour and childishness

5. All these legends led to the English word “Mercurial” which means someone who is an active and lively personality; someone who changes suddenly and unpredictably; someone whose personality undergoes swings in moods; someone whose mind or temper is fast and at the same time volatile

Cosmics

The position of Mercury at the time of your birth is very important to understand the nature of your cosmics, the hidden aspects within you that can influence your lifestyle and facilitate improving your life:

Firstly, you have to find out where Mercury was posited at the time of your birth. Theoretically, Mercury visits 16 constellations in the sky. In addition to the Twelve Zodiacal Constellations where Mercury spends most number of days it also visits Four Non-Zodiacal Constellations: Ophiuchus, Cetus, Orion and Sextant. Mercury in different constellations means different things for you. Mercury in Gemini can make you an intelligent and smart guy and in Virgo it can make you a fashion and lifestyle specialist. On the other hand Mercury in Aquarius turns you a moody scientist who spends lot of time in laboratory

Secondly, you have to find out whether Mercury was in the sky map of your place of birth at the time of your birth. If so, you have to see whether it was rising, culminating or setting in the sky at the time of your birth. A rising Mercury is a sign of brilliance; culminating Mercury leads you to be an accomplished person with mild manners and an easy going lifestyle; setting Mercury, however, can cause tooth related sickness in you

Thirdly, you have to find out whether any phenomenon involving Mercury has taken place at the time of your birth. For example, if there is an inferior conjunction involving Mercury then your business and family life is often clumsy and cloudy; if there is a superior conjunction involving Mercury then it is good news for your business life

Fourthly, if you are born during the Geminids Meteor Shower, you are an evergreen person who savours success.

Lunar Nodes arise when the path of the Moon intersects with the path of the Sun. There are two lunar nodes: ascending and descending. Each node presents opportunities and sometimes threats to you. This blog post explains the lunar nodes in general astronomy and cosmics and describes the ascending and descending lunar nodes for April 2010.

Astronomy

Around the Earth the Sun traverses on a path which we call ecliptical. This path extends to a year in duration. Around the Earth the Moon travels on a path which we call Moon Path. This path extends to les than a month in duration. The Moon path is eliptical to the Sun’s path in that it goes north and south of the Sun’s path. The highest difference between these two paths is bout 5 degrees in latitude.

The path of the Sun and the path of the Moon intersect in two different points called Nodes. One is the Ascending Node which arises when the Moon travels from south to northward direction and where the Moon crosses North to the ecliptic. Hence, the ascending Node is called as North node. The other is the descending node which arises when the Moon travels from north to southward direction where it crosses south to the ecliptic. Hence, the descending node is called as South node. Nodes are basically in opposition to each other. Generally from one node to the other it takes about 14.8 Moon days. Due to the precession, the nodes change in terms of location. Once in every 18.6 years the Nodes complete a rotation called “Nodal Cycle” and arrive at the vernal equinox. The following picture illustrates the lunar nodes:

Generally ascending node is said to shower good time and fortune while descending node may cause disturbances. Cosmic influence of these nodes has been studied by several cultures and civilizations. Depending on the constellation, star, location of the node and the lunation cycle (lunar phase as popularly known) the degree of auspiciousness or severity of distress as the case mat be, would vary. I give below the details of lunar nodes for the month of April 2010 followed by my cosmic advice for improving your life.

Ascending Node April 2010

The word Manubrium is from Latin meaning “handle”. This giant star is located on the right eye of Sagittarius, the Archer. Though it is located 142 light years away from the Earth, it has been noted as a star of great significance because its close proximity to the ecliptical path of the Sun resulting in frequently being occulted or overshadowed by the Moon. It is a binary star with visual magnitude 3.70 and spectral type of “K0 III”. This star has an eye catching orange colour

5. You have to be damned practical when handling bosses and colleagues and subordinates as your relationship with them is not too smooth; as regards to customers and business partners lot of things would remain

6. The time of ascending node is one out of million chances as the combination of star, constellation and lunar phase oracles good time and positive cosmics. Moreover, there cannot be an excellent time to start or re-start anything in your life, career, family and business on this day of ascending node.

Mekbuda and Mebsuta are pair of stars in Gemini constellation, noted for love and vitality. Interestingly Mebsuta is just above the ecliptical plane whereas Mekbuda is just below the ecliptical line. This star Mekbuda is located on the outstretched left leg of the twin Pollux who is an immortal and the son of Zeus. This yellow colour super giant is variable star of spectral type “G3Ibv” with visual brightness ranging between 3.7 to 4.2 magnitude. Even though it is about 1,120 light years away its pulsating brilliance brings lingering sense of happiness

Astronomy

1. Full Moon: The Full Moon appears at 02.25 UTC/GMT on Tuesday, 30 March 2010. You have to trace your local time in reference to this time.

2. Location: At the time the Moon is located at:

Right Ascension (Celestial Longitude) 12 hour 22 minutes 37 seconds

Declination (Celestial Latitude) South 8 degree 17minutes 03 seconds

3. Constellation: Virgo

4. Illumination: 99.91 per centum

5. Perigee: This is the point where the Moon is closest to the Earth in its revolution. The Moon reached the Perigee point two days prior to the full moon day, that is, on March 28, at 04.57 UTC/GMT when its distance from the Earth was around 224,860 miles. At the time of Full Moon, the Moon is moving away from the perigee point; consequently the pulling power, in fact, recedes

6. Surrounding Planet: Saturn on the North- East in Virgo constellation

7. Lunar Mansions: At the time of Full Moon, it is located in the Thirteenth Lunar Mansion (Arabic: Al-Manzil Al-Qamar) of “Al-Awwa”, which means “the Barker”. This is one of the 28 lunar mansions and said to be auspicious

8. Galaxy: At this time the Moon is on direct line of sight with Sombrero Galaxy known as M 104 and NGC 4594 on the south- east direction. The Galaxy got its name as it appears similar to sombrero hat popularised by the Mexicans and worn by cowboys or riders on horseback to get sun-shade under its broad brim. The sombrero Galaxy is located at some 50 million light years away and is known for its outline of thick dark rim of bright dust lane and a large central bulge, both have given the galaxy great prominence. Its nucleus is said to contain several hundred globular cluster of stars. Recently, it was found that the galaxy has an extended halo. Its red cosmic colour is eye-catching. Though its brightness is around 8.0 of magnitude to us on Earth, considering its distance it must be truly amazing and bright galaxy of the world. The magnificent view of Sombrero Galaxy is photographed by Wendelstein Observatory in Germany:

Cosmics

The combined effect of the Full Moon in the circumstances described above gives both positive and negative cosmic results:

Positive Cosmics: More emphasis on new beginning, expansion and exploration less importance on reasoning and calculation; profit and cash-flow on the rise; time to allow liberties of mind and flesh so that pent-up emotions get an outlet; loosening of limbs is good; time to spend moments with family and friends amidst the busy schedule; indicates decisions are made with a discerning mind

Negative Cosmics: Heat outside and cold and dry inside could sap your energy to some extent; this is extended ostensibly too many of your actions where you cannot bring equanimity between your internal and external environment. If family is doing well business declines; if business goes up family happiness comes down. Loosening of morals must be checked

Improving Your Life

Few tips for improving your life till the next New Moon are given below:

1. Expand your ideas and horizon and bring more joy to your lifestyle

2. Control your cash-flow but at the same time never hesitate to spend for family lest you mar happiness

3. Buy sombrero hat to have shadow under the sun; in similar vein start building home and new venture to give shelter and enhanced cash flow

4. For those in politics, time to be bold and brush away inhibitions and prejudice; this would silence your doubting friends and scare your berating enemies; for those in higher administration in public and private sectors, time to move with the band wagon and sign up on the dotted lines

5. There cannot be a good time like this for both marketing and operational guys; go gusto

6. Women can celebrate their femininity with vivaciousness and those who have sexual debilitations should opt for phallus worship as done in Greek and Hindu traditions

7. Men must engage more in being together with their loved ones; loners must spend little time surveying pictures of maidens

8. Success is shown for those engaged in agriculture, farming and production industry; service industry takes somewhat of back seat though

9. For business men new partnerships or new ventures in basic industry such as food, clothing and durables are best plays

10. Use lot of red in your system: red colour, red vegetables, fruits with red chunks inside are the best for you

11. Go for an aroma bath once in five days; for men Lemon or Juniper on Sandalwood base is recommended; for ladies Jasmine and Gardenia on Sandalwood base could do well

12. As regards to Gems & Crystals, any red gems are good for this season: Rubellite (red Tourmaline) Pyrope (red Garnet) and Bixbite (red Emerald / red Beryl); others include red Spinel, red Jasper, Ammolite, Fire Agate & Fire Opal; those who can afford can opt for Ruby or Sapphire.

Around 200 million people world wide celebrate Nowruz, the spring festival. Let us join them and celebrate the coming of spring into our homes. This blog post explains Nowruz in general terms and gives a check list of how you can celebrate Nowruz and starts improving your life.

What is Nowruz?

Nowruz is a festival to welcome the season of spring. Originally started in Persian traditions Nowruz is now celebrated by more than 200 million people globally. Earlier, Nowruz festivities commemorated the Sun moving from the Pisces constellation into the Aries constellation on the Vernal Equinox. However, in terms of astronomy today, Vernal Equinox or the movement of the Sun to the point of zero in celestial longitude and latitude is in the Pisces constellation and not in Aries constellation. This year the Vernal Equinox takes place at 17.32 UTC/GMT on Saturday 20 March 2010.

Generally known as the Persian New Year, Nowruz is celebrated in Persian and allied cultures for more than 5,000 years. Considering the fact that Nowruz is celebrated in more than 30 countries, United Nations has accorded its recognition to Nowruz as a holiday of cultural significance. Nowruz celebrations are seen primarily in Iran and countries in Central Asia such as Kurdistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Eastern Turkmenistan (Sinkiang) and Uzbekistan. In south Asia it is a noted festival in India, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Kashmir. Turks, Kurds and Armenians join together to make Nowruz a memorable and national day in Turkey even though the Turkish Government does not officially recognize it. Syria, Armenia, Crimea, Georgia and other parts of Caucasus do have various cultural activities lined up for this day. People in Albania, Bosnia, Kosovo, Serbia and Macedonia in the Balkans also take part in festivities connected with Nowruz. Moreover, diasporas from Armenia and Iran living elsewhere continue their traditions of Nowruz. Followers of Zoroastrar and Bahaullah world wide mark Nowruz as a day of great religious significance. Nowruz is also a day of remembrance for Shiaite sects such as Alawites and Albanian Takkes.

Nowruz is spelt something like 21 ways because of this ethnic and cultural diversity. In Turkey it is Nevruz, Uighurs call it Noruz while Kurds call it Nuroj. Starting from the Vernal Equinox, festivities continue for 12 days and on the thirteenth day people go outdoors to complete the cycle of this annual event.

How can you take part in Nowruz?

The following are few recommendations for you to take part in celebrating the spring festival:

1. Generally you can spruce op your home by cleaning, clearing and arranging and may be giving a face lift. This sprucing is called as “spring cleaning “in the west; this is the time to bring zing into your lifestyle

2. You can buy new clothes for you and your family

3. Flowers and bouquets containing hyacinth and tulip are brought home at the beginning to enhance positive cosmics and for improving your life and that of your family

4. You can light bonfire in your front yard; traditionally this bonfire is lit on the Wednesday preceding the Vernal Equinox day

5. As Vernal Equinox arrives you can lay a table known as “Haft Sin”. Thereafter you can decorate the table with beautiful clothes spread over it and keep few items over the table. Originally there were seven items coinciding with the seven planets; later two more were added. You can select either seven items or nine items as you please; I have given the entire nine items along with the traditional Persian Nowruz names against each one in brackets:

5.1 Wheat or Barley sprouts in a dish, clay or metal pot (Sabzeh) – for rejuvenation;

5.2 Dried fruits of oleaster, or fig or similar tree (Senjed) – for love

5.3 Sweet pudding made form wheat or oats (Samanu) – for affluence

5.4 Few coins (Sekkeh) – for wealth

5.5 Apples (Sib) – for beauty and health

5.6 Garlic (Sir) – for medicine

5.7 Hyacinth plant (Sonbol) for growth and equanimity

5.8 Sumac or multi colour berries (Somaq) – for rainbow and sunrise

5.9 A bottle of Vinegar (Serkeh) – for age, maturity and patience

6. You can keep a fish bowl with golden or colourful fish within to give zest and variety. This bowl can be placed on the table or nearby it

7. Keep few watermelons as nothing is complete in this heated ambience until you have water melons and lot of these with you. We enact the Zoroastrian custom and practice of eating the reddish inner chunks of this great fruit

8. The festivities last for 12 days and end with an outing on the thirteenth day. The following are few items on the agenda:

8.1 On the first part of six days look outward by visiting elders and relations in your neighbourhoods; exchange gifts and presents with them; invite them to visit you and get the cosmics from the table you have laid for Nowruz. It is also worthy to note that the sixth day is the birthday of Zarathushthra known in the west as Zoroaster

8.2 On the second part of six days look inwards by concentrating on improving your life and lifestyle; Young un-married girls should tie grass in knots and tie it on the right wrist to get good husbands; young un-married men could keep honey or candy overnight to be collected on the following day to get beautiful wives. Businessmen could tie coins in a red cloth and hang it to foster business; hyacinth also helps to do the same

8.3 The ending of Nowruz is scheduled on the thirteenth days when your entire family can go out door to enjoy both inward and outward looking. Known as “Sizdah Bedar” meaning "thirteen outdoors” this outing arises from the ancient Persian tradition of twelve zodiacal constellations controlling 12 months in a calendar and anything outside could be calamitous or could bring bad luck; in order to avoid such eventualities you move away from your home. Therefore the entire family goes outdoors to fairly a distant place and spends the thirteenth day there

9. Throughout the 12 days you light an oil lamp at the time of sun down each day; the element of fire is ranked first in the seven elements ancient Persians believed in: fire, air, water, earth, plants, animals and humans.

This year Vernal Equinox arrives on Saturday March 20 chiming with bells of alarm. Dogs of war are chasing some countries; unrest is raising its head elsewhere. For men and women it brings confusion and misjudgement. This blog post explains why you should take care on the basis of astronomy and cosmics relating to the Vernal Equinox.

Astronomy

This year the Vernal Equinox takes place at 17.32 UTC/GMT on Saturday 20 March 2010. You have to trace your local time in reference to this.

The Sun

On this date the Sun touches the celestial equator at 00.00 degree both in longitude and latitude, as it journeys from south to northward direction. Put it the other way, the Sun is on zero point in terms of Right Ascension (Celestial Longitude) and Declination (Celestial Latitude). The word vernal means spring whereas the word equinox means equal day and night as most parts of the globe experience almost similar length of night and day time. Spring is observed in the northern hemisphere while in the southern hemisphere it is fall or autumn. The Vernal Equinox point is now in the Pisces constellation. The Sun is in Pisces constellation along with planets Venus, Mercury and Uranus during this equinox.

The Star: Omega Piscium

On the north of the Sun is the star “Vernalis” whose Latin title means “Star of the spring”. Astronomically, this star is called as Omega Piscium; the alphabet Omega is the 24 th and the last one in Greek alphabet. It is technically the last star in the Globe of 24 hours with the highest Right Ascension (RA) of 23 hours 59 minutes 50 seconds, just about 10 seconds to the Vernal Equilibrium of Zero point of RA. Vernalis is a solitary, dwarf, sub-giant of yellowish – white hue with moderate brightness at 4.0 magnitude. It belongs to the spectral type of “F5IV “. Located some 106 light years away and with a surface temperature of 6,600 Kelvin it is about 20 times luminous as our Sun and about 1.75 of it size. There are three important characteristics of this star:

1. Its location makes Omega Piscium the first star to be seen as one steers toward the east from the famous Circlet of the Fish Asterism in the Pisces constellation

2. It is the last star to be noted before we reach the Vernal Equinox point of zero in the Celestial Longitude and Celestial Latitude

3. Due to the precession of the Earth, by the time of Vernal Equinox of 2013, Omega Piscium would reach the zero pint in Right Ascension and Declination and would be precisely overhead to the Sun; a remarkable event eagerly looked for by all of us.

The Moon

At this moment the Moon has just entered Taurus constellation and has arrived at the third lunar mansion (Arabic Al-Manzil al- Qamar) of “Al-Thurayya” (The Many Little Ones). This lunar mansion is of mixed nature out of the 28 lunar mansions. Whenever the Moon is in this mansion it generates both positive and negative vibrations in equal proportions.

Mars

The way Mars behaves at this time raises eye-brow. Whenever Mars gets beyond the Earth’s tilt it is considered as an “Out of Bound” planet. The current tilt of the Earth is computed as 23 degrees and 29 minutes. Though all six planets theoretically can go out of bound in the celestial latitude known as “ Declination” it is Mars and the Moon that do it often and give rise to tension and head-aches to many.

According to Jeffrey Brock Mars is out of bound from the Earth’s axial degree of 23 degrees and 29 minutes for the period February 13 to March 15. During this period Mars as the God of War reached the maximum of 23 degree and 50 minutes. Please note that March 15 is denoted as “Ides of March”. On the day of Vernal Equinox, Mars has come within the axial degree and is known as “In bound” planet. At this moment its declination is at 8 degree 15 minutes and 29 seconds.

But the danger has not abated yet. Mars is dangerously poised in direct line of sight where it sees to the south west Procyon (Alpha Canis Minoris) also known as the “Lttle Dog” and Sirius (Alpha Canis Majoris) dubbed as the Dog Star. On the opposite side Mars is almost in direct line cutting the star Regulus and the sprawling planet Saturn on the south-east direction.

Accidental war could break out or extreme international tension would prevail for the period from the Vernal Equinox date till about the time of the arrival of New Moon on April 14.

Cosmics

Having analysed the position of the planets the following are highlights of cosmics given under two broad classifications: positive and negative cosmics:

Positive Cosmics: Lot of energy generated within you, even though much of it is dissipated due to extreme hot and dry condition in the ambience. Implementation of plans shall take place during this period. You observe a sense of going ahead and getting things done. You experience increasing tempo within business that commensurate with rising level of business demand; same thing prevails in the family tallying with several family engagements

Negative Cosmics: Fiery nature together with hastiness might mar your progress both in business and family undertakings; Health is medium; stormy mind and restless nature could sap more cosmic energy

Improving Your Life

The following are brief recommendations to help you tide over the situation:

1. Bring more patience into your lifestyle

2. Take it cool; do not let your angst and anger spill over to others; keep yourself out of trouble spots

3. Do lot of breathing exercise; you will be out of breath most of the times

4. Understand how to relax yourself; may be you should take few days off from your busy schedule; may be you should do lot more gardening, mixing earth with water; plant new saplings; uproot dried and dead ones, weeding & spurning etc. For out door activity select visiting mountains or sauntering in fruit orchards or slumbering in woods that bud early flowers

5. Use combination of colours including white, blue, red, yellow along with little black shade in your dress and clothes

6. Take care when you are making judgement, as the chance of negligent judgement is high; a state of confusion, quarrel and disputes is observed; this applies to both in your office and in the home front

7. Busy time for farmers and agriculturists and good time too

8. For those in politics, tendency to take decision on the spur of the moment is shown; for those in higher administration in public and private sectors, avoiding hasty decision is better option

9. Boon time for brokers, intermediaries, agents and those who travel to make a living

10. For women and senior citizen more onion and garlic would be required

11. Relish lot of sweets and sweet fruits; take more radish and eggplant when it comes to vegetables

12. Fruit essence for men is blueberry; for women it is Cherry. Follow the instructions on the bottle; use two to three bottles consecutively
